We stayed here for 6 nights in august 2016 with two adults and two teenage kids. Nice hotel, directly on the beach and in the centre of Lamai, very close to all the restaurants and shops. Two or three persons- rooms with a balcony or terrace and a nice view on the tropical garden. For breakfast you can go around the corner, to "Will Wait". They have a great American breakfast with scrambled eggs. No traffic noise. Two swimmingpools, one big and a smaller one. Some stones of the bottom of the swimmingpool were sharp or getting loose which could be dangerous for the kids. The chairs and parasols on the beach were old and sometimes broke. The beach was great. Nice and helpful staff. The hotel could invest more in maintaining their furniture and swimmingpool, but overall we had a great stay for a good price. I would certainly recommend this hotel!

Pros
- Good air con
- Great wifi
- Sea view top floor had a great view
- Comfy bed
- Great location
- Clean pools
- Sun beds available
- Nice balcony

Cons
- Unhelpful Day staff but the man who worked the evening was very helpful and polite
- Water pressure of the shower was AWFUL!
- Needs modernising
- Had to sit on the toilet sideways as it was to close to the sink

Overall a great location and comfy bed made staying at this hotel worthwhile. Don't expect a hotel which is stylish and goes out of its way to help you. Great for a base which is good value for money.

Decent hotel for its price. We stayed 2 nights. It is located on the beach and has 2 good pools. There are numerous good resturants close by. Our room was somewhat dissappointing, seemed half cleaned..with previously opened shampoo and shower gels that had hairs stuck on them and in the sink from previous guests. The toilette was very awkwardly placed in the bathroom and the shower had almost no water power, making it very difficult to clean properly after a warm day. The balcony was nice, except maybe for all the bird poop. Benches around the pool could benefit for some upkeeping, many were very worndown. AC worked well. Bed was comfy. All in all a decent hotel, good if you want to keep your trip low budget and stay near the beach.

We stayed a week at Marina Villa in 2014 and enjoyed it so much we booked again for 13 nights with friends. We are not fussy people we like quiet, clean comfortable rooms with cold aircon in the best location and that is what you get at Marina Villa. Yes, there are a couple of areas that need attention that would not cost a lot of money and would make this resort even better, that is updating the sun umbrellas and throwing away the green lounger pads that are badly damaged and replacing or having white plastic loungers without pads (would look better and more hygienic). The staff are lovely and rooms are serviced promptly as soon as you leave the room! The massage hut on the beach is fantastic the girls are the best! Give them a tip they deserve it! A couple of the rooms on the ground floor have a leak from the shower above, we coped with this but some people may not - surely this is easy to fix as there is a man hole in the bathrooms. We love it at Marina Villa and will be back!

I stay at the Marina Villa every time I visit Kho Samui; at these five time over the past four years. The rooms are spacious and comfortable.I like the big lap pool, and there's a smaller wading pool. Every day I would have breakfast in the ocean view cafe, get a wonderful massage in their beach sala, then swim laps before jumping into the ocean, all without leaving the hotel area. One of my favorite hotels at a reasonable price.

Room tip: I always ask for upstairs nearest the ocean.
