Really nice place for a longer visit! Great staff and also good facilities, the breakfast included everything and that was the highlight of the mornings. If you are looking for a beach hotel, this is not the place tho’. Also the place they call the gym is not a gym, it’s a room with a few weights, disappointing.. overall, good stay!

My husband and I had the best time at Manathai Koh Samui for our honeymoon!

It was our first time visiting the island and we were quite nervous as our trip was a gift from my father and he booked it via Travel Republic which I've never done before.

Well, it's safe to say that both myself and my husband absolutely LOVED our time at this hotel and it truly made our honeymoon super special.

The staff are incredibly friendly, polite and caring. We were welcomed warmly and the scenic courtyard was certainly one to remember! We sadly, saw some other guests be quite rude to the staff which was infuriating given how lovely they are.

Our room super cozy and when we arrived and they even decorated our bed with rose petals. They also brought us a bottle of champagne as a little gift which was so thoughtful. The bed is super comfy and large which made for lovely, restful sleeps.

The rooms are very clean and modern looking. Nothing was outdated about it! The shower and bathroom was lovely and also very nice.

We can't stress enough how good their food was too! We loved room service (which we thought would be super expensive) but it was actually pretty reasonable for hotel standards.

With our package, we were also able to get some advice and help from a tour guide (who's name I have completely forgotten but he was a lovely french man!) and he helped us hire our scooters and book a boat trip to visit other islands. This was super helpful for us as we felt confident we weren't being ripped off or taken somewhere dodgy. We stayed in Koh Samui for 10 days and we pretty much drove around the whole island during our time so I highly recommend travelling with mopeds if you're confident enough!

Manthai's location is also superb. Lamai is super chill and the hotel is also located close to other local restaurants which means you can always pop out and eat somewhere else if you don't want to stay in.The bigger pool is located across the road from the actual hotel which at first seems weird, but it's absolutely fine. You can walk down onto the beach from here and walk along the water towards other beach restaurants etc. which we also did!

Breakfast was also fantastic - really delicious food and a good variety of choices from continental to classic Thai breakfast. Some of the hot food choices also changed every day to give it some variation which was awesome.

All in all, we would happily visit Manathai again and can't recommend it enough.

Everything was fine with our stay: relaxed atmosphere, room spacious and clean, breakfast with many gnummy choices, quick and friendly service staff, good quality in-house restaurant. But the rating can’t be more than 3 out of 5 because there is technically no beach and, being at the northernmost corner of Lamai bay, the small strip of sand in front of the hotel can get rather dirty with algae and even plastic rubbish when the sea is rough. If you are planning a lazy beach holiday, pretending to do little effort to get to the sea side, this is something that will surprise you negatively. However, you can walk or rent a scooter/car and reach the other gorgeous beaches of the island: beautiful coral beach is only 500M away.

Our first impressions of the Manathai were extremely favourable. We were greeted warmly upon our arrival to a scenic courtyard early in the evening. Our room was impressively huge. Unfortunately that was the end of the good vibes.

The air conditioning was not strong enough to handle the spacious room and ended up leaving the bedding damp and stale. The hotel also did not do a good job of controlling its guests with a couple of loud party rooms distrubing anyone who would like to get a good night's sleep. The purported free wifi was inconsistently available and extremely slow. Finally there was not much of a beach which would have at least provided a respite from the over-used pool.
