The warm welcome we received from Kostas began the moment we booked our holiday, several months prior to our two-week stay in June 2015.
By the time we arrived on Skopelos we felt almost like old friends, met by Kostas himself at the quayside and chauffeured up the steep, winding road to the villa – a helping hand we appreciated enormously. Our first sight of the house exceeded our already high expectations; the impressive photos on the website don’t do full justice to how smart, clean and spacious it is – and with those breathtaking views of the bay from the terrace. The villa is secluded, quiet, well-equipped and very comfortable, a perfect spot to get away from it all.
Skopelos is beautiful, its inhabitants are friendly and everything is good value – perhaps unsurprising for a visitor from the UK benefitting from the favourable £/€ rate and pre third-bailout economy in the early summer of 2015. It's not a big island, so you can cover most places with a car in a few days. That leaves plenty of time to lounge around the pool, explore the town, seek out the best restaurants.
As well as all these clear positives, perhaps our overwhelming memory is of the friendliness of Kostas and his wife, Voula. Their good taste, attention to detail and care of their guests really are second to none. We found nothing to be too much trouble for them, whether assisting with occasional food shopping, helping out with a place to hire a car (go to Magic Cars for great customer service and a complimentary jar of homemade preserve – take note Hertz), advising on where to eat out, or being handed the secret of the shortcut walk into town.
We certainly plan to return.

Wow! I am a snob and hard to please. I have high expectations and rarely have them met, but I think "Wow" is a suitable adjective for this place. It's always difficult to find a villa with a private pool if you're only 1 family, even harder to find something really special. What Kostas has done here, however, is really special. The villa is lovely. Tastefully decorated with an eclectic blend of old and new. The outside spaces are truly fabulous. Patios and seating areas, lead down through sculptured lawns and beds to the pool. There are so many little nooks and crannies, seating and eating spots, we struggled to make use of them all during the week. The town is within walking distance but we mostly drove as we had our two young children with us and also I'm just plain lazy! The town is busy and interesting but honestly, I couldn't wait to get back to the villa, it was so good!
