Very solid grilled food and friendly staff in a cosy garden. Try their ham and cheese platter and do not forget about the pear brandy at the end.

Spending time in Plitvice instead of Zagreb, even on Saturday, was a good idea-paths are mostly in shade; it makes this weather somewhat bearable.
The first BUS from Zagreb ARRIVED TO PLITVICE LATE, one hour behind the schedule. So instead of being there just after eight, I had to brave the 9 o'clock crowds.
Took route H,which I do suggest, since it goes in the opposite direction of most of the crowds so there is a chance to find yourself the only person on the path.
The intercrossings of the paths are nightmarish-people literally crowd there,no respect whatsoever for others. Seems that it is more walk then hike, therefore people walk in groups rather then one after another-and if you find yourself in this jam,you have to follow at a pace of a slug.
Particular bonus of route H-you can get on a boat much, much more quickly-at half past eleven I had to wait only 5 minutes! The park bus that drives around is more challenging to board-queue is long and people constantly try to jump it.
Overall the lakes were ok, some parts even serene and beautiful.
Park is well kept, toilets are clean (but no toilets on the paths, so do your business before entering the park),food is expensive for the type of food provided (fries and sausage that has seen better days cost around 47KN),but everything is manageable.
Now (2p.m.) there is almost no queue at the entrance 1 ticket office,so perhaps an afternoon in Plitvice sounds even better than the morning.
To sum up-number of people entering the park should be limited. Take your own food, water, and spend the previous evening in a yoga class finding your inner zen before braving the crowds. They do bring out the worst in you...

We ordered fish and lamb, the two main dishes of the house. The fish was average. The lamb had some good pieces and some which were only bones. At the end I was disappointed by the lamb, because I thought to get the portion for two, while I think we got a portion for one person. Actually the waiter told us that more would come, but he did not. We might have misunderstood.

Our BnB host recommended this place after we sought local restaurants. There are a few tourist traps and average restaurants in the area but this one is a real gem! The grilled trout was excellent and came straight from Plitvice lakes according to our waitress. We were offered some local rakija on the house which was surprisingly tasty! Thank you to our Airbnb host Bozica and Ivan at Vukovic House for recommending this place and offering us a lift :) we had a lovely time and so far it is one of the best meals we have experienced in Croatia. We look forward to coming back to Petar and trying the baked lamb - we will call ahead! (As it takes 2 hours to cook)
