Altamont Gardens is a short drive off the N80 and is a very pleasant place to spend an hour or two strolling around. It is very well maintained and the only charge is a 2euro parking fee. There is a small coffee shop on site too.

I am so annoyed with myself that I have never visited Altamont Gardens before. Fantastic walled garden in full bloom and the main garden walk was lovely. Children loved the bog garden and ice age glen. Lovely tea garden. Picnic area available and toilets were clean. Great day out for €2 (parking). Can't wait to return and watch the gardens change through the seasons.
