Cocobay Resort is a very special place. It has a wonderful position with access to 3 fabulous unspoilt beaches-- 2 infinity pools-- individual and very private cottages-- all with WIFI and every comfort thought of.
The food was first class and the lovely staff were like one big family--- nothing was too much trouble.
We spent 10 perfect days there and plan to return next year.
Thankyou to everyone at Cocobay for making this one of the best holidays we have ever had xx

10 days at Cocobay Resort does seem like perfection! We are very pleased that you enjoyed the unspoilt beaches, infinity pools and private cottages. Kudos also goes to our staff who takes pride in making our guests happy.

You are indeed part of our 'Cocobay Family'. We would be truly happy to have you both return to us next year to replicate once again, one of the best holidays you ever had!

Retuned from Cocobay last week after a one week stay. This is a small property over all. Very intimate and quaint. In fact, we must have stayed during a low peek time as it was not a full house. The customer service gets a 5 star rating from me. Everyone was very helpful, kind and curious especially, Elvira, Jermaine and Mr. Gore. Always a smile on their face and genuinely sweet. They went above and beyond to ensure you were fed and good. I noted the gentleman working the main bar by the pool was not very friendly nor the water sports attendant but, whatever.

We booked directly through the hotel and were greeted with a bottle of rum in our room. On our fourth night, we returned to our quarters after dinner and had fresh flower peddles scattered on the floor along with candles - very thoughtful and romantic.

We stayed in the deluxe cottage. Very clean and orderly. Our mini fridge was stocked with water, pop, Waddle beer and bubbly daily. We had a partial ocean view which was beautiful as we'd sit on the veranda with a drink and watch the sun set.

Keep note: if you want your room cleaned, there is a conch outside your door. Ensure you leave the shell hanging.

The property itself is very clean and the grounds are immaculate. Staff is always in site clean and ensuring things are up to par.

They have free wifi however, poor signal the further you are away from the main reception area. We had no wifi in our cottage nor on the beach.

Food: Being a foodie, I'd stay for what we paid to stay at this resort, breakfast and lunch were pretty basic at best. Not much variety for breakfast. Standard egg station (fried, omelette, pouched). It's buffet style however, many times the trays were empty so, if you get there for 9am, you'll have to wait at times for another round of waffles or pancakes. Also, if you are vegan or siliac - you will be miserable. My boyfriend has dietary restrictions and he found it extremely difficult to have a decent meal. Lunch is buffet style as well however, only half way through our trip were we informed that they do a lunch dish special which is separate from the buffet. Dinner has a daily menu. The apps were a joke. Big plates with crumb-sized bites. The menu indicates lobster as an extra supplement however, they informed us it's not lobster season. For the first 3 nights I ate the same thing because I didn't like what was on the menu. Again, only through conversation we found out they can prepare local dishes which you'd have to indicate to the staff a day before. Once we found this out, the remaining dinners were excellent. Roasted veggies, snapper, rice and red beans, fried plantain, okra, etc. It was delicious. Wish we knew about this upon our arrival.

Also, they mention fellas cannot wear shorts, flip flops to dinner but, many did. It's not formal as we saw 5 cats roaming the dining area all day. This was tasteless for me considering the money spent and the 4.5 start rating. I'm sure the cats are there to keep rodents and such away however, if I was management, the cats would not be allowed in a dining area. You don't know if people have allergies, etc. The hotel manager should do something about this.

Beach: Some clear areas, some blotchy from seaweed. Go early to secure a hut as there are not many. Behind our beach (across the street) there is another beach which I personally thought was incredible. It's by Denis' restaurant. Literally, I 2 minute walk. Long stretch of turquoise water and not a soul around!!! It was pure heaven. A must if you are a beach lover! Another amazing beach is Jolly Beach. We jet skied over. Again, a beautiful stretch of turquoise water.

Vendors: By the entrance to the beach, there are some local vendors. They'll try to friend you up to purchase some souvenirs but, a no thanks is all it takes.

Our last night we received a bottle of rum punch and coconut crisps which again, the hotel succeeded with a personal touch.

Overall, we enjoyed our stay. Very romantic and relaxing.

Tip: The main bar serves top shelf liquor. Cheers!

If you choose Cocobay for your stay, beware: you won’t be able to get your amazing vacation out of your head!!! The beauty of the resort and the courtesy and friendliness of the staff is unforgettable.
Upon arrival, we were greeted by O’Neal, the manager, who made us feel like we were VIPs. By the next morning, the staff knew our names. The staff’s concern for their guests’ well-being is sincere. They are the kindest people ever!
The property is pristine and there are beautiful corners all over where you can see the water. The rooms are very clean. The bathrooms have an awesome twist because you shower with a view. The robes are super soft and comfy.
The selection, quality and quantity of the breakfast and lunch buffets was very good. The sandwiches at pool side delicious. Dinner was a foodie’s delight. The wine and cocktail selection was superb.
I suggest you book directly through the hotel so your dinner menu choices have no restrictions. Vilma was a gem helping with the reservation process and very helpful, patient and fast answering my emails.
A heads-up: the beach is not private. On the weekends it's very busy: kids, music, BBQs.
The hotel has a great list of excursions. You might want to book ahead of time so you're sure to have a reservation. The jet ski rental on the beach is cash only (approx $60 for 30 min).
Thank you Cocobay Resort Team for wonderful experience! Cynthia Federico Alessandro

We just returned from a 6 day trip to Cocobay. We loved this place but will stay somewhere else next time only to see other parts of Antigua. We stayed in the Chattel house & it’s view was amazing and we loved every minute of being there! Sheer Rocks restaurant-food was great but service was horrific! They need some serious training on customer service.

It is almost one year since we had the pleasure of staying at Cocobay in Antigua. We have had months of happy memories and plan to return some day. Cocobay is everything you could imagine a perfect Caribbean holiday to be, Antigua itself it paradise. Beautiful scenery, gorgeous beaches and we found everybody so friendly.

We stayed in a deluxe cottage, our own little detached home for the two weeks. At first we were not sure of the view as we were at the back of the resort however we soon got used to the privacy and quiet - although I imagine every room has quiet! My only negative would be the voile curtain, I would have preferred a curtain that gave a little more privacy and kept out the light when the sun came out - I enjoyed getting up early but not always at dawn each day.

The hotel gardens and pools are beautiful. We spent most of our stay on the surrounding beaches - the white sand stunning and warm sea perfect for swimming - heaven.

Food and drinks throughout were excellent - breakfast, lunch and dinner superb and we ate well. Loved the afternoon tea. We had some rain and yes there were mozzies however did not in any way take away from a fabulous holiday.

We took a couple of trips through the hotel and had a fabulous driver who was so informative and great fun. We got to know some of the other guests which was good fun however not in any intrusive. Antigua is a beautiful island, it is good to get out and about and explore a little.

Highly recommend Cocobay - a Caribbean holiday at its best. We look forward to returning some day.

Room Tip: I imagine the seaview rooms are stunning
