We stayed here for three wonderful nights a couple of weeks ago. Saturnia is a great place to stay. We had glorious weather and the views from our room and balcony were stunning. The breakfast was just amazing. We ate outside and the view along with outstanding food was idyllic. We had terrible trouble with mosquitoes around the pool and we should have used repellent as we were bitten many times! The pool was lovely though. We had booked the suite one year in advance to celebrate my 60th birthday and 25th wedding anniversary but when we arrived we were told it was not available now!!! We were disappointed but Stefano the owner admitted it was an error on his part. We had a lovely room but we had been looking forward to the suite which looked incredible. But it did not spoil our stay in this wonderful hotel. We hope to return next year for sure!

Room Tip: Room 11 was lovely, small balcony and incredible views!

well what can i say this is a 10 room hotel the operators Stefan and Debra were great best advice had on my trip
the hotel is literally built in to the old quarry owned by the same person who owns fonta pura the rooms are quaint a little noisy street side but awesome views of village or the valley, pool and steam and sauna were great carved right in to the rock along with the weight room pool was chilly but the heat of the day this didnt stop you from going for a dip and a nice relaxing atmosphere we booked to include breakfast but went else where for meals again this had small showers but room waste quite comfy and incredible Italian spirit filled the hotel with the history it held been doing business since 1984 so i was told would defiantly stay longer if pool was thermal thanks for the memory

Room Tip: rooms looking over valley would be my choice

In the joining of the hours in lingering days, mortals wondering over how to catch them, gentile hillsides open their treasures as the sun warms the Maremma countryside, a sumptuous expanse without ardor, but so magically and purely managed it could only have been worked while others slept, or is Eden transformed again in the hills of Italy.

But for work, it's fruit God's blessing, one finds no less just sitting above these soulful gifts beneath Saturnia, resting peacefully overall. No need to capture it with man's tools, or to share with another as though impossible to keep unless seen again; no need even to return again to freeze eternal moments earned only in this one.

You will find it all at Villa Clodia, it's hospitality the essence of angels born to serve. Even its lush gardens, where all paths lead, it's grapes languishing beneath verdant vines, their tawny skins the tincture of the warm Tuscan sun, it's orange, fig and olive trees all the sustenance of daily bread, are meaning beyond words, needing only a peaceful spirit to turn their pages.

There is more; the baths, of course. But do stop awhile and stay awhile at Villa Clodia. You will meet the hosts of this beautiful and warmly packaged gem--Stefano and Deborah--and you will know them by the fragrance of this idyllic resting place.

FJ Rich

Room Tip: Ask for a fan in summer; delivered graciously by hosts.

We were staying for a wedding so almost all of the rooms were taken by friends which made it a lot of fun too. The proprietors could not have been kinder. Rooms were very clean - in a perfect world a bit stronger air con would have been nice as the temperatures were very high. There are no bathrobes which made going down 3 flights of stairs in a swim suit a bit embarassing. No bar. Bed and breakfast only. The breakfast was wonderful. Excellent coffee. The position is perfect with wonderful views and a lovely pool, just about big enough to sort of swim a few lengths. Incredibly good value. We go back in a heartbeat (but taking our own robes!)

Room Tip: some rooms have fabulous views but the ones on the street side have none.
