“Amazing cottage”
Reviewed 6 June 2015 for a stay in May 2015

We recently stayed at Stronefield for a family get together to celebrate my dad's birthday. The house is perfect. The location is ideal and the village is beautiful. We will definitely be returning again.

“Stronefield cottage”
Reviewed 29 March 2015 for a stay in March 2015

We all had a wonderful time, the whole family loved it. The house is very spacious and was totally immaculate The owner left bread, milk and a bottle of wine for us, this was a really nice gesture and very much appreciated. WIFI is very good for the size of the house. Even though we brought some essentials and condiments , the house has everything you would need, washing up liquid, sauces etc. The village store also had everything you would need if you had forgotten anything. Bed and pillows were extremely comfy, which was a bonus! We hope to return to Stronefiled a cottage sometime in the future!

“Short but lovely stay”

We stayed here with my mum& dad for a family wedding for 3 nights last weekend.

The owner Bob is very accommodating and everything was as he said it would be.

The cottage is absolutely lovely. It's pristine in terms of the cleanliness & the quality of the furniture & decor. The kitchen is very well equipped with anything you could need. TV has Sky though I'm pleased to say we didn't watch a lot.

On arrival there was milk. A bottle of wine & a loaf of lovely bread from a local baker.

The house is bright & airy with a huge kitchen diner & an upstairs sitting room. The sitting room has amazing views & a balcony to sit & enjoy them on.

The cottage has a good sized garden & downstairs there is a large patio area which looks out across the view too. We were lucky to have fabulous weather but the patio is partially covered & I would have been happy sitting out there in the rain.

We took our dog with us & he & I spent long happy hours there in the sun.

The only thing to watch is it's quite an uphill walk from the village & my mum struggled a bit. So just be mindful if you are travelling with someone elderly or with mobility issues.

We loved it & just wished we had been there longer. We are already planning to go back with friends.

“Great position, great house”

Can only really repeat others reviews.
This is a beautifully designed, well equipped and comfortable house, in a lovely elevated position, overlooking the village and the loch. Everything you might need is provided for self catering, but the Crafty Kitchen is a nice place to eat, if eating out - (take a bottle of wine). We were visiting relatives so didn't travel beyond the village.
Also good that pets are welcome - (but the house is very clean and there is no evidence of pets ever having stayed there).
Looking forward to staying again at Stronefield the next time we visit .

“Best view in Ardfern”
Reviewed 1 November 2013 for a stay in October 2013

Our 3rd time at Stronefield tells you all you need to know about our opinion of this place. Have been coming to Ardfern for 20 years by boat and car and love the place dearly. Once the boat was sold we needed a place on dry land. Having stayed in several local places, this is by far the best with views to die for from kitchen, upstairs lounge and bedroom. The outside belies the clever design of the place. Everything is modern and well equipped and Bob, the owner, is very relaxed and helpful. Good local amenities inc shop and pub and great walks. Weather was foul this week but hardly matters when you have a glass of malt, a log fire and a highland window to look out of. Roll on next year!
