We loved visiting the Coco Hill Forest. Mood was awesome! He took as on a great hike on the property where he is growing such an array of amazing things!! He is so vested in Barbados, in locally grown food, in respecting the land, and in teaching others. We took our 14 year old and she loved it!! Not appropriate for small children but for older kids, families, students....what an education, great workout, and the experience of hearing the bamboo trees talking!! There is one view in particular that is outstanding. I won't post a pic as you need to see it, and FEEL it for yourself. Follow on Instagram to get a feel for the beauty.

Barbados is lovely and several beautiful gems hidden in the center of the island.

The most magical for us was Coco Hill Forest. The owner Mood told us all about the place and its plants in a 3 hour exciting tour.

Up and down it went (walking shoes is a must). Flowering and edible gingers, rare palm ferns, fabulous incredible cathedral tall Royal palms, the very special Barbados black pineapple and much much more.

As a whole, it is fantastic and educational and I know that Mood will love to work with University and schools.

I sincerely hope that Mood will succeed in everything and obtain the Government funding he needs and so rightly deserves.

I can only echo what others have said. Mahmoud is passionate and inspiring with his vision of sustainability at Cocohill. It is a unique experience walking around this forest and it will be interesting to see its progress. I wish Mahmoud every success.

We saw the signposts for Coco Hill Forest when out for a day visiting Welchman
Hall Gully and Flower Forest. On looking it up online we decided to visit another day and are so glad that we did. The owner, Mamu, was so knowledgeable and so enthusiastic about his plans for this spectacular land that it made the afternoon one we will never forget.
We will definitely visit again when we return to Barbados to see how the project is developing and spend more time is this lovely forest where the only sound is the rustling of wind in the treetops.

Before our tour we really had little idea of just what to expect but were delighted with the whole experience!
We like to use public transport to get around the Island and the 3W ZR from the Bridgetown River Road Terminal gives a great service.
The owner Mood is a dedicated and enthusiastic host and guided the two of us around this wonderful place. We knew little of purpose of Coco Hill Forest but after 2 hours we were engrossed in the efforts being made to encourage the development of both medicinal and indigenous plants which can be grown on the Island and could be used as a replacement to the sugar crop. Everything grown here is organic, natural and could be a basis for the Island to be food self sufficient.Take shoes in which you can walk comfortably, the terrain is somewhat undulating and for a full experience allow a good couple of hours. Thanks Mood, we will be back next year and look forward to seeing the progress of this great project.
