A real mixed bag. Plus points - lovely beach, excellent restaurant, good supermarket, decent bar and a well designed and maintained pool.

Negatives - petty rules and regulations for example don't even try to play table tennis between 2 and 4pm due to siesta rules even in a noisy and busy bar. No clean linen until day 9 and had to take own towels. Most annoying of all were the noisy teenagers right outside your window at 2am!!

All in all a good all round base with lovely towns nearby so car essential, over priced for what it was.

Room Tip: Choose a bungalow, camping looks very crowded.

If you're looking at going here for a vacation, don't. It's probably a great weekend retreat for people living nearby but is by no means a vacation destination. The "bungalow" we rented was completely different from the ones featured in the pictures. It was basically a 10x10 foot room with a bathroom in the corner and a bunk bed and small kitchenette. No towels, no utensils, no cooking equipment for the kitchenette, no a/c (it was very uncomfotably hot in the daytime inside) and minimal linens that were dirty. They have one bar, one restaurant, and a small market onsite...which is great because it's a 25 Euro cab ride each way to get to Sperlonga, the next closest town (12km) with restaurants or any kind of attractions. The best part was the unexpected 60 Euro charge at the end of our 3-night stay for "services". Not sure which services we were paying for since we didn't use any of them. If this CAMPING VILLAGE (not hotel) were not on a beautiful section of quiet beach, it would have been insufferable. Those are strong words for someone who usually likes to stay in hostels or camp away from the touristy spots. To sum it up, don't go here!

We intended to book our campervan and family for at least 4 days in Settebello.
Upon arrival, the windows of the reception were smothered with adverts which included the age of a child (03-12) and the cost of using the swimming pool. I originally thought that would be for non residents but no, everyone had to pay €6.00 to swim for the day (of which it was closed during the midday sun) It being an ordinary run of the mill pool, no slides or anything to warrant paying for, I was more than dissapointed being I had 2 swimming pool mad sons along with me. Which lead me nicely onto their ages, 10 and 12. I of all people should of realised if my 12 yr old son was an adult being his mother, but I had to be told this by the money pinching camping company. I raised the issue of the notice in the window stating it should be written as 3-11yrs... to no avail. In my opinion a child should be under 16 but as everyone is quite aware, there are many holiday companies that use this money nabbing scheme.
On the plus side, the site is nicely situated on a safe beach and has plenty of activities...alot with hidden extra charges to use, non of which are adverised on their website that you have to pay to use them.
The reception is a headwreck. Its organised chaos with no proper queing system, and when you dont speak italian your jumped infront of constantly.
It is over priced. We paid €70.00 per night for an average sized pitch, 4amp electricity (which wasnt enough to power our air conditioning) and use of the toilets and beach. They were adverising a 10% discount on their website, of which I wasnt offered. Had we of paid for the pool you would be looking at the bones of €94.00 a night. We can stay in a hotel for that money. The fact of many many empty pitches reflected the bad pricing in our times of recession.
Having said all that, we checked out 2 days early, and will not be recommending it nor returning to it.
I have sent them an email with my comments and am still waiting a reply.
