This pub is a god send. Very good beer, very nice staff, very spicy crisps and more importantly... very close to the train station.

My partner and I dined here on Sunday 1 April late afternoon whilst staying in the area (luckily just before the kitchen closed) It wasn't overly busy so we were seated to the left and embraced the beautiful decor that is the Station Pub (don't be mislead by it's name and it's not your average station pub!)

We were welcomed by the lovely staff and even more so, by the varied menu! My partner really enjoys duck wraps of any sort and we wanted a roast dinner - hit the nail on the head here.

We ordered olives and duck wraps to start and then roast chicken and roast beef, absolutely beautiful - I can safely say this was the best roast dinner's we have ever had. The potatoes were fluffy, the chicken had mounts of flavour, home made Yorkshire pudding - plus the portion size was huge. Considering we had phoned a few restaurants prior to this one during our stay, the one that had availability, had the best Sunday roast we've ever tasted!

We were also left to enjoy each other's company, there was no rushing us to pay the bill or to move us off the table, it was really nice to relax and it added to our relaxing Easter Break away from home. Really good value for money, our meal with drinks came in at around £40 for both of us.

Thank you! We will most certainly be back if we are in the area!

Being a little off the beaten track, at the outset the Station Inn has the potential to tick all the boxes.

Arriving early one evening, we started with drinks which were both affordable and of good quality. Pretty much all tables were reserved which again, should have been a good indication.

As the evening wore on, it so transpired that two of the larger tables were reserved for what would appear to be a children’s party. Kids were well behaved but it’s probably not appropriate to visit a pub mob handed with children.

As the evening got busier, it soon became obvious that the two members of staff on duty were totally overwhelmed as was the kitchen, which decided to stop taking food orders as they were so busy.

Cannot moan too much about the staff as it’s out of their control, but for those in charge, look at your bookings and staff accordingly.

Food that was delivered, (late,) was distinctly average. Shame, as the menu was appealing.

Won’t go back.

Often have pad Thai at the pub. Tonight had a takeaway, it was not as nice as eating in. Noodles all stuck together, no soya sauce or peanuts included. just disappointing. Won’t have a take away again .
