We had a really good lunch here, including front row seats overlooking the tiny fishing harbor. Surprised the waitress by asking to go into the kitchen, but seeing the moussaka made my wife certain that was what she wanted after we had both the courgette and tomato balls. The whole meal was delicious, staff were attentive,. You will not be disappointed here.

We were staying just down the road and were recommended this taverna which was close by. The location is overlooking the sea and we were sorry to have missed the sunset which must have been spectacular. As it was we sat and watched the moonlight on the sea instead. The menu offered a good selection of food and more vegan possibilities for our son than we had seen before - he loved the tomato fritters! The waitress was very helpful and obliging, the food was very tasty and the prices reasonable. Extra entertainment was provided by the tree rats - rats living in the trees like squirrels, what else! Good place to eat and I imagine the view is fab during the daytime.

This was my second visist to Alonaki apartments.

Arrived on the 7th of August for 1 week. Spoke to the owners before we left and the keys for the apartments were left for us as arranged.

You could not find a nicer place to stay.

The apartments all have air-con, with no surcharge (unlike other 'resorts') clean and comfy bedding which is changed once, maybe twice a week. The apartments overlook the restuarant area but not to the point of intruding on others. Each apartment has a private balcony. The restuarant is canvassed with trees and shrubs and is elequently lit in the evening. The eating area overlooks the sea and there is a small beach below (takes about 1 minute to walk to) Never waited more than 15 mins for food. Staff very friendly and english/german speaking. Staff can be quite humerous at times, especially as they get to know you, expect sarcasm!!

The small beach below is rarely used by toursist, the most we saw was 10 people who had all left by 2pm..bliss. Its a good place to snorkel if the sea is calm,on the downside, if the sea is rough it becomes fairly inaccessable but the alternative is very good .Situated about 20 mins walk away is Halikounis beach, popular with kite surfers. You can get tuition here if you are a novice.

The beach is supported by a small sprinkling of tavernas but nothing in the way of restuarants. Lite snacks and drinks only, beds and brollies. Adjacent to the sea is Lake Korrision, a protected area which is popular with migrating flamigo's (finally got to see them this time!) Halikounis beach is appx 2km of unspoilt natural golden sands and of course the Tayo Beach Bar which is supported by a DJ, chill out music! some of the mixes where first class (so much so i bought 2 of the CD's) The beach is safe for kids.

We hired a car for the entire week, this was kindly arranged by the apartment owners and was delivered to us, although not the cheapest, very good service and took all the hassle of running around Lefkimi or Kavos. I would recommend a car or scooter if you stay at Alonaki, it is a bit out of the way and that is also reflected in the small amount of tourists it attracts, even in the height of the season. The nearest town is about 10 mins drive and has several supermarkets and an ATM. It can be a nightmare to drive through so park on the fringes if you can!

Arriving from the airport it takes about 40 mins to get to alonaki and costs about 50 euro in a cab. Might be worth printing a road map before you leave as even the taxi driver had little or no idea where to go! Apartment owners arranged our cab back.

This is definately a place to impress, have a evening meal and watch the sun set. If you are travelling with younger children, there is also a small play area for them, plus the odd chicken and turkey roaming about! This is a very greek experience, so sit back, relax and enjoy.

One small tip...have cash with you or be prepared to walk around on tip-toe to get a signal for paying by card....its an issue they are aware of and can be quite funny at times!!

From a point of view of noticing some minor discrepencies, an extra cup in the apartment would have been better (we only had 1 until the morning), and maybe some tea/coffee in the rooms for arriving guests (or bring your own??)
Room 4 air-con only lasted for 20 min at a time. Small stuff really. Once we pointed out some of the things they were corrected immidiately.

A traditional greek taverna, easy to reach by car with wide parking space, protected by the shadow of a delicious "wild" garden just on the top oh the hill in front of the sea, where you can enjoy the crystal waters for a swim (no sunbeds no umbrellas).
The menu offers all the typical greek dishes (my best: horta, stuffed tomatoes, fish, salads, delicious fried potatoes). Please do not miss zucchini balls, and the surprising salicornia: exclusively founded here: delicious with olive oil and lemon juice.
impressive the white fish with potatoes and the tsipoura.
we enjoyed lunch twice while on our way to alonaki beach.
Ask for the table on its own, far from the others, with the view of the gulf beneath.
Service warm and smiling. One on the best and cheapest greek taverna in Corfù
