The location of the Green River Inn is perfect for a small group business meeting where there are no interruptions, delicious meals, nicely presented, that include a good wine with dinner, and surrounding grounds that invite you out for a stroll by the river, and moments of thoughtful contemplation if not the occasional day-dreams. I LOVED the rooms! With no two rooms alike, each one offers the peace and quiet you would expect being in the country, and some have jet bathtubs to soothe tired muscles after a day of hiking. Without a doubt, I will be returning to this experience again in the fall.

Room Tip: Best rooms face the river with the sound of running water, and excellent bird-watching.

The inn is located in a very tranquil and beautiful area of Vermont. The room was fantastic, very cozy, newly refurbished. Great breakfast.
The owner was very attentive, we had a pleasant chat during the evening, with a glass of wine with the background of a chilly night and the crackling fire.

Room Tip: Ask for the rooms facing the river and the hills. I believe in summer must be very soothing listening to the river flowing nearby.

Stayed over Christmas weekend. Quiet area by the Green River, very little noise, pretty drive on Sandgate Rd. Beautifully decorated rooms, spacious dining area with great windows and views of the River. Our room was comfortable, bathroom and vanity/sink outside bathroom, other rooms have full bathrooms if you prefer. best continental breakfast ever with a variety of fresh breads, fruits, cheeses, cereals, coffee, teas, etc.
Lovely owner, Sophia, also owns Governor's Rock, dedicated to making you feel welcome and comfortable.

The Green River Inn is in a lovely quiet location minutes off of route 313 in Southern Vermont. This spacious, immaculate inn has many beautiful updated rooms. I can imagine this as the perfect place for a country wedding or family reunion. The owner and caretakers are welcoming and generous. The "continental" breakfast is plentiful and varied. My husband and I had a wonderful peaceful stay while visiting relatives in the area. We have already recommended the Green River Inn to other family members. Incidentally, the owner also runs the cozy and popular Governor's Rock Motel in Shaftsbury.

Room Tip: Rooms in the back have a beautiful view of the Green River.

I was very pleased with the Green River Inn. The owner bought the Inn in June 2015 and has done extensive remodeling. It is beautiful and I would definitely return. The breakfast consisted of coffee, tea, juices, lots of fresh fruit, breads and jams, cereals and pastries - no hot foods, but plenty to choose from. The owner was very eager to please and asked us for any suggestions, good or bad. It is a beautiful property along the river and very quiet.
