We spent a 7 day vacation at this resort on Koh Samui. If you are looking for peace and quiet, with the minimum of scheduled activities this is the place for you. It has a nice spa that offers reasonable rates, good dining options on the premises and even more reasonable ones nearby (Fisherman's Village) and a staff that is always obliging, unobtrusive and never pushy. The rooms are nice and well maintained, attended to twice daily, they come with tempting scented toiletries and lamps, free daily local fruits and water. The pool is kept very clean but is, like the resort itself of modest size. The attendants are very courteous, always ready to readjust the umbrellas, reserve your chairs and replace your towels, take orders for drinks or food, join in for a game of table tennis on an ideally positioned table, etc. Basic water sports like canoeing and wind-surfing are free and there are always boats ready for hire nearby for other water activities. The ocean water is great for swimming, with hardly any waves, but alas, not very clear due to ?therapeutic mud deposits on the bottom. There are no tropical fish to accompany you on your swims. The dining options in Fisherman's Village and even closer are excellent (we especially liked Cafe 69 and the Starfish and Coffee restaurants).
At the end of our stay, we noticed a nice coconut shell sculpture of a mother and baby bird hanging on a branch near the towel change. One of the staff had made it. He offered it to us as a present.

Room Tip: The resort is relatively small and all rooms are in good proximity to pool/restaurant/beach.

Having been to samui a few times Bo phut is by far my favourite place to stay on the island. This hotel was in a great spot on the beach a short stroll to the fishermans village.
The resort had everything we needed and was set in beautiful surroundings. The staff were all very helpful.
The only led down was the restaurant on site. The Thai food was a bit bland and western for our liking.

Spent several days at the Bo Phut at the beginning of September, after a few weeks travelling in East Asia. Excellent hotel, cannot praise it enough: pleasant, personable staff; calm, tranquil atmosphere; wonderful location - an attractive garden and good beach frontage, plus easy walking distance to Fisherman's Village, though meals at the hotel are exceptional - both buffet breakfast and traditional food served at the Sala Thai restaurant. Hope to return. A small piece of paradise on earth, good for oldies (like ourselves) and families with young children.

This is a stunning hotel. We arrived earlier than expected due to an earlier flight being available. We were welcomed with iced drinks, cold towels and little flower garlands and our rooms were ready by the time we had been shown around the beautiful grounds. We were offered a free Thai massage - wonderful. Rooms are spacious and beautifully furnished with some nice touches - complimentary fruit platter and bottled water replenished daily, a daily newspaper delivered to your room every morning, robe and slippers as well as the usual toiletries and a beach bag to use during your stay. They also provide a mosquito repeller machine and the tablets that it uses, more if you ask at Reception if you run out. Also there is an umbrella. At the evening "turn down " service they also spray the room for mosquitoes, as well as providing more fruit, water, towels if necessary. We had 2 jacuzzi rooms. These are on the second floor so that there is privacy if you use the jacuzzi bath on the balcony. When we arrived it was full with floating orchids. You can lie in the jacuzzi watching the squirrels and humming birds in the trees.
The pool is lovely, not huge, but never full - in fact we were the only people in it a lot of the time.
There were always enough sunbeds. The pool staff bring a towel for your chosen sunbed and arrange the sun shade if you want one. Late morning they bring you a cold hand towel and some pieces of fruit. You can order drinks around the pool. We ate in the restaurant near the pool at lunchtime - very good food and service. In the evening we walked to Fisherman's village - about 10 minutes along the beach or on the main road, lots of good restaurants, shops and stalls. It gets very busy on a Friday evening when there are more market stalls.
We did not try the hotel restaurant in the evening but it looked lovely.
The beach is nice, not stunning. We were not particularly bothered by the hawkers.
Breakfast is very good- a good buffet selection as well as egg and noodle stations.
The staff are lovely, always greeting you with a friendly smile. i cannot fault this hotel - everything was excellent, but beware, we were bitten by mosquitoes the minute we arrived - best to put some repellant on as soon as you land! And the sun is very powerful, we got burned even when it was cloudy.

Room Tip: Jacuzzi rooms are lovely, but a little walk from the pool/beach. Quite private and quiet.

Melbourne - we stayed at the Bohput with friends for the first time for 11 nights. We are mature couples and found the hotel met all our expectations and the staff delightful, nothing was too much trouble. We had a Villa Garden room which was excellent. The hotel was quiet and peaceful but not so that it lacked life.
It is well positioned, a short drive to the airport, within 5 to 10 minutes from the fishermans village and a host of very good restaurants. Just 15 minutes and 300 bahts by taxi or hotel car from the busy Chaweng Centre.
I would highly recommend the Bophut.
Planning to return in 2013

Room Tip: Garden Villas are great, however from what I saw the stadard rooms a very nice.
