We were planning on staying for only a week. We ended up staying over a month. My girlfriend and I are Squash players so obviously we chose Mantra for its 2 elegant courts & its fantastic gym & Spa. Moreover, we had a dog (Max) who became an instant celebrity at Mantra. We had no idea how wonderful this resort was. From the Owner / Manager (Coffee Expert) all the way down to the room staff, this place is full of positive energy and love. The service was Amazing . The food was top notch. The location and the view was inspiring. We ended up spending more time at the resort than any where else on the island. We plan on revisiting Mantra Samui next year. Thank you Robert , We Love your Mantra .

Room Tip: We loved the Cozy rooms with a kitchen to prepare food for our dog Max .

We stayed at the Mantra for 8 nights and loved every minute of it! From the staff to the facilities we can not fault the resort. Like others have said the location is out of the way, we did use the free shuttle bus, but truthfully once we got there we did not want to leave. Breakfast in the morning was the best breakfast we have ever eaten- variety abounds and the food second to none. We also ate in the restaurant and ordered room service lots. The food was always fresh, presented beautifully, and most importantly so satisfying. It is true that the menu prices are inflated compared to the rest of Thailand, but for the quality of produce we were happy to pay. We stayed in the Love Jacuzzi Room (we were upgraded) and were blown away on first impression by the size and facilities. Our room was so clean and had such a luxurious feel. The bed and pillows were heavenly. We noticed so much attention to detail during the eight nights, from the kindness and professionalism of all staff to the beautiful stitching on the guest amenities. The pool was was fantastic and the ambiance while lying on the sun loungers was beyond relaxing. If you want one of those dream holidays where all you do is relax, enjoy, work on your tan, and live the life you only read about in magazines...stay here! You will thank yourself that you did. We were on our honeymoon and will hopefully return for our one year anniversary to find it exactly the same. A huge thank you to all the staff who went out of their way to make our stay so unbelievably AMAZING!!!

Room Tip: You are bound to love what ever room you are in! Enjoy!

We have just returned from an amazing stay at Mantra Samui. My family and I stayed in adjoining WOW rooms and the view really was 'wow!'. The room was quite basic but clean and roomy. My parents also travelled with us and they were upgraded to a LOVE room which was beautiful. The standouts from this resort were the staff (especially the bar staff :)), the gym, the views, the pool and the service. This resort is not on the beach, but this suited us as we just wanted a relaxing stay by the pool. This is exactly what we got!! As extra bonuses the resort offered free shuttle services to and from both Fisherman's Village and Chewang; free airport transfer; and free wi fi and internet access from the room. My son loved the home made ice-cream from the restaurant and was chuffed that he beat one of the barmen at jenga. The resort is set up the side of a mountain and some of the paths are a little steep but this was no problem as staff drove us around on little golf carts. The sun beds were interesting - they were like oversized bean bags which got a little uncomfortable after a while. My husband and I went to the day spa which was okay. Overall we had a great time at Mantra.

Room Tip: One of the few resorts that offer adjoining rooms - great for families.

My girlfriend and I stayed here for 2 nights in April. We arrived very early as our flight connection was the first of the day. We were welcomed by the staff and made to feel at home immediately. They made extra effort to get our room ready and we checked in smoothly and were offered refreshments and a cool towel to wipe our brows. The hotel staff were extremely helpful in explaining the hotel from the start and always with a smile on their face.

We booked the Love Room and as our bags were taken up to the room the staff gave us full instructions and told us where everything was. The room had a TV/Computer with free internet and music player/ipod dock. The room itself was large and very cosy. Our room led out to a balcony with a hot tub and a large (sun) bed to lie on. The view was amazing as we were up in the hills (which means its a bit of a trek to the beach).

Lots of shuttle services and moped hire was available as the location of the hotel was fairly remote and up in the hills.

For the beach we went to mae nam beach which was very quiet and relaxing with great views, calm water and views of Koh Phanghan.

We never ate in the restaurant in the evenings but the breakfast buffet was excellent. Lovely iced coffees and amazing views. For evening meals we went to Fishermans village (shuttle service goes there) and we ate at the Happy Elephant which I would also recommend as a great place, especially for seafood.

The pool is great and has the same view as the restaurant area....stunning.....I would say that there wasn't always enough seating at the pool because the sunbeds are so big. Otherwise no complaints.

The fitness room is good and one of the better ones i have seen in a hotel. Again the view from here is amazing.

Overall a pleasurable although short stay I would not hesitate to come back. For the price I thought it was very reasonable. The compromise with the view is that you are a little away from everything but from my point of view this is what i wanted. Staff were very nice and the hotel has the personable feel as its not a huge resort, although some of its facilites resemble what you would find in a bigger resort (cinema, fitness room etc).

Room Tip: Love room is great and worth the money

This hotel is a great, relaxing hotel... It has an amazing pool and kids play area's if you have kids... Spa is good but much more expensive than local.. Room was a bit above average. Clean white sheets and amazing view... Good clean bathroom.. They also had an amazing movie theater with good movies.. That you can also see in your room if that suits you better. We had the theaster to our selves because no1 else wanted to see a movie @ the same time so I guess the same thing could happen to you... The restrant food was ok not to great.. But the breakfast buffet was good... Drinks and meals are a lot more expensive as usual in hotels. They have good shuttles services includinged in the rate that can take you to chaweng and or beach or fishermans village.. The only problem I had with these shuttle services is the times... The earliest shuttle is 11 so you have to start you day late or pay for a taxi!!!!! I would go to this hotel again.. The beach is not great but swim able rubbish floating everywhere.. Thx
