Overall Negatives

1) i booked a 1 bed apt via major travel company ( thomas cook) and requested top floor, quiet room but on arrival was put in a noisy low floor studio. This seems to have been down to the proprty owners / managers rather thann T.C. Who quickly addressed the issue out once i complained to them directly
2) other reviewers give a mixed picture of one of the owners (Pepe) some describing a charming host, others a spoilt sulky child - I know which I met and it wasnt the charming one! I met a dishonest mr angryWhen I pointed out i had booked an apt not a studio he told me that the room i had been allocated as an apt because the cooking facilities werent in the bedroom (T.C. Later confirmed it was a studio), he told me the main supermarket was closed on a monday ( first day of my hols) but i could get supplies at the smaller supermarket next to the cirillo family sunbed area where i could also rent a sunbed for 3€ a day - the main supermarket is not closed on a mon and you can use sunbed free elsewhere. Once pepe knew i had complained to TC he arrived at my room v rude and shouting things like "i know people like you,you only complain to get money" ,"you move right now, pack right now" etc.
3) i arrived at night and was told by Pepe that the room i was allocated (room 4) had a sea view - i found next day you could see a strip of blue 1/2 the length of my little finger if you stood on tiptoe in one corner of the balcony but calling that a seaview is quite a stretch! otherwise the view was of fields / buildings and a hedge with the outline of Kalymnos island visible on the horizon. The balcony got sun for a total of 30 mins a day.

Positives
1) mastichari is a lovely resort. Not too busy, great beach, nice restaurants etc
2) once i had been moved, the 1 bed apt i moved to ( room 18) was fine and good value for £. Dated furniture, v basic kitchen facilities but what i expected. Side sea view, got the sun for an hour or so in the morning
3) the other owners and staff at the cirillo family hotel / christina studios ( same place 2 names for some reason) were very nice and professional
4) place was v clean with well maintainet grounds
5) good location - close enough to be 5-10 min walk to the beach and centre of resort, far enough not to be bothered by resort noise / traffic etc

Room Tip: If you want a quiet room and / or a view go for top floor

i couldn't find fault with this place in any aspect, very satisfied with the week spent here, generously sized rooms by my previous greek holidays(crete & thira).
staff were great, satellite tv in and outside the bar for sports fans.
the beach was about 5 minutes away very clean and plenty of space on it!..

Room Tip: 1st floor rooms are best for views..

Well the apartments are small and basic, but clean . The room we had a private balcony we a sea view as well as over looking the countryside. The bathroom had been recently done up although small its very nice. Kitchen was small and lacking in a couple of areas. No toaster, no microwave. We booked self catering and apart from a kettle and a fridge that was it. I think they want you to have the breakfast in their outside bar area in a morning. We did have it 3 mornings and it was very nice. They don't do food at night except for a bbq on a Tuesday night, we went the first week and it was very good. There is no pool which we knew about we went to the beach most days, a 5 to ten minute walk. Sunbeds are between 5 and 6 euros but some beach bars offer them for free as long as you purchase the odd drink /snack or meal. The only negative at the Cristina apartment for us was Pepe who had a proper face on if you didn't drink in the family bar. As someone else said Put your bottom lip away and smile.
