I`ve never stayed in a bad hotel in Denmark and this place is up to standard. A quiet country hotel with a block of small cosy rooms away from the main building. Very clean and comfortable with a really good breakfast. Would be happy to stay there again.

We visited this hotel one night in October and the view of the fjord is breathtaking. The surrounding forrest area is very nice for shorter hikes and it's very convenient when you are traveling with your dog. Also staying in the annex, parking was just beside the room. As Jutland goes it can get very windy, so bring warm clothes and don't miss the restaurant, the food is very nice.

He room however, left a lot to be desired. We were in room 20 of the annex, which faces the main building and the fjord through large windows. The main building is nice to look at, but as all guests and visitors to the restaurant pass by these windows within 10 meters, it's like living in a fish tank. There is Zero privacy unless you close the drapes which will make you miss the wonderful view outside and force you to enjoy the decayed state of the room instead. Cleaning is sub standard, the floor under the toilet is dirty, the water kettle has likely never been cleaned inside or out.

I can understand that bringing dogs we won't get the best suite, but I do expect it to be cleaned properly, and I certainly hope the standard I better in the other rooms.

The breakfast buffet was very poorly presented. The food was actually quite ok, but a lot of it was hidden away in 5 big metal canisters of the kind you use for warm food, except this was all cold. Also the bread was very good, but in heir effort to keep it fresh only small pieces were available for you to carve slices from making the buffet look even more sparse.

Lastly we only had contact with one of the hotel staff, and while he was helpful, his approach was not very warm and welcoming.

The hotel is in a very sad state and definitely cries out for renovation. We got a room in adjoining motel style building directly facing the fjord. But sadly enough that was the only good part of our stay. Mediocre breakfast, mosquitos all over the place, unclean and very old looking bathroom, non functioning mini bar and the hot water kettle in the bathroom completely took out the pleasure of the stay.

Stayed in a "suite" in the main building. Small sleeping room and OK bathroom, but problems with the drain. Tiny living room with a desk, a sofa, a chair, a table and an old tv-set. Remote control didn't work, but got a new one at the reception.
All in all it's like a visit back in time, also what the rates are concerned. We paid 650,- dkr. (86 €), which is a bargain. The restaurant is cosy with a effective and friendly staff -though it's highly over-priced. Paid 239 dkr. (32 €) for a wiener schnitzel, which was worth half the price.

Surely this hotel would have been cutting-edge in 1973 but the modernistic two-storey blocks must by now have used up most of their design life. As previously noted, the concrete walkways are rather askew and the room generally was starting to fall apart. But the view over the fjord on a night of the full moon was amazing.

We had little contact with staff who were rather preoccupied with catering for a wedding and went into town to eat, but breakfast the following morning was of a suitable standard.

Time to knock the lot down and start again, I would say. The location is, as the French say, 'imprenable' but the buildings themselves are a lost cause.
