When we first arrived at Lesedi we were a bit put off because we were early and there was not much activity. We were thinking we might have stumbled into one of those tourist places where we would be a captive audience for shopping. However, once we were a bit closer to time for the activities to begin, we were pleasantly surprised. We started with an introductory video then followed a guide to different "villages" that explained the customs and lifestyles of various African groups. The information was well presented and I especially enjoyed hearing the different languages.
The end of the presentation is traditional dance and music. We also had lunch which showcased some traditional African dishes.
Our driver, arranged by the travel desk at the hotel, is Zulu in background. We especially enjoyed hearing his story about working in Johannesburg; he is from Kwa Zulu Natal and told us that his village life was like what we saw in the presentation.
We were on a tour with a driver from our hotel in Johannesburg, so I am not sure about admission costs. Accommodation is available on site, but we were on a day trip.
