Sophie writes: "What an amazing cottage and in what an amazing location. Lobbs cottage is a restored barn conversion and therefore is much bigger and airier than it looks on the photos. The cottage itself is clean and well kept and we felt completely at home. It has a little garden where you can sit and a drive to park you car. We would wake in the morning to the sound of pheasants squawking past. The village of St Mawgan, where the cottage is located is gorgeous with an inn, Bonsai Gardens, village shop less than 5 minutes walk away - along with stunning woods to go running in. The beds were comfortable, the sitting room well furnished, the kitchen had pretty much every mod con, the bathroom was spacious and clean. If I had one, teeny tiny wish - it would have been that the water pressure in the shower was higher - no power showers here. Cameron the owner and his wife Julie were courteous and helpful and they live in the cottage next door - so any queries or problems and help was at hand. So, would unfailingly recommend - my only complaint, is that when you return home, you may have withdrawal symptoms ... be warned." I'll simply add that I agree with all she says - and I'm a veteran of many Cornish holidays.
Lobbs cottage is the ideal place for a quite peaceful getaway set in the idyllic village of St Mawgan . The cottage is decorated to a high standard with beautiful furnishings throughout and the owner Cameron was very welcoming and very helpful towards our party , can't say enough about this perfect holiday cottage be back next year .

We stayed here as a family of 4 with 2 young children age 5 and 10 months. The cottage was lovely and very suitable for us all with everything we needed, it was like home from home. The owners were very helpful at all times and are very friendly people. A car is needed to get to places nearby especially with the kids as most roads are narrow country roads. There's a nearby beach Morgan porth which was very nice for the children. We would definitely come back to stay at this cottage in the future and would reccomend to others. Amazing holiday !!!

My wife and I had the pleasure of staying at Lobb Cottage when we came to Cornwall for a close friends 1st childs christening. The quality of this property shouldn't be underestimated. A real hidden gem.
After a long drive the cottage was warm and welcoming even in February. And WOW the log burner must be seen to be enjoyed in all its glory.
The cottage exceeded every expectation. Quiet and secluded yet close enough to our friends. The cottage itself was very clean and well appointed. It had everything we needed. With the local pub serving good food only a short walk away it is hard to find anything not to love about Lobbs Cottage.
I would stay here again with no reservation.

We have just spent two weeks at Lobbs Cottage and weren't disappointed. There was everything we needed at the cottage and it was decorated and furnished beautifully. We spent most of the first week out and about so it was only really a base but unfortunately due to our two year old daughter getting chicken pox the second week we were confined to the house all week. Due to being there all day we were aware of the amount of road noise due to it being on a very steep junction in fact on one occasion my husband had to push a car out of a ditch. It was nice in the garden though and with having nice weather we purchased a little paddling pool and made the most of the stay. The local pub the Falcon is really lovely and friendly and Newquay is only a 10-15 drive. The only downside of the house is the lack of phone signal. We had three mobiles and only the o2 one once placed in the kitchen window got a weak signal. For some this might suit them, but we needed daily contact with home due to a relative being rushed to hospital and then having a poorly little girl. So it would benefit from a landline at the property either a payphone type or at least one that accepts incoming calls. All in all though it was a lovely stay and the owners are very friendly and helpful.
