After a very long Winter, a week in the sun was in order. With the introduction of the ‘Green List’ of countries, our choice of destination was fairly limited. What a lucky find this was!
Penha Longa is situated in lush surroundings with extensive views, and we were lucky to have a room with a balcony looking across the golf course and forested hills- a perfect place to enjoy the sunset with a tipple!
The rooms were beautifully appointed and were equipped with everything we needed. The housekeeping team were discreetly fabulous, refreshing the room twice daily and even leaving us a chocolate!
The breakfast was really great, having gorgeously-presented platters of fresh fruit and cold meats, with a wide choice of cooked meals. We tried 2 of the onsite restaurants and both were excellent- one tasting menu and the other an Asian fusion.... fabulous food in both!
Finally, the staff were, without exception, courteous and helpful.
Not the cheapest hotel in Portugal but one of the best we’ve stayed in.More
