This is a real gem set in a picturesque Suffolk village. The hosts are very friendly and nothing was too much trouble. The menu needed more fish dishes but otherwise a great experience

Dropping in for a pint last Saturday we decided to have lunch there the following day. Although the pub looked to be booked up Scott, the landlord, fitted us in.
The lunch was superb. My roast beef was great - well cooked and plenty of it. The service was prompt and courteous. The beer here is always good and my Wherry was up to the usual high standards.
The Queens Head is also a beautiful old building that fits superbly into the West Suffolk countryside.

Limited menu, abysmal service. We had to ask at the bar for a second drink, call a waitress twice to get the menu and the attitude of the table staff was completely indifferent. We have been several times before, but there is no longer any comparison, our guests found the choice of food far too limited, we will not go again.

This place has so many fans; even as we arrived we were assured by a very happy group of customers that this was the best place in the county to eat. Certainly for carnivores this is a dream; yesterday lamb shanks, beef wellington and roast beef were on the menu and I thoroughly enjoyed my pink roast beef, served with Yorkshire/roast potatoes and cauliflower cheese - other vegetables were extras. Although there are quite fussy non-meat eaters in my party, they were a bit disappointed by the veg offering of Gruyere and Asparagus pie ( which arrived with two roast potatoes and that was it) and Baked Crab - again with roast potatoes (weird) and a rather paltry salad. Both ordered extra vegetables which were pronounced underwhelming. However, the booze offer was good, and we enjoyed the puddings.

Visited The Queens Head on a mid week evening. Very busy country pub with a very welcoming atmosphere. Excellent service although a little slow but put that down to being a very busy evening. Food was very hot and very tasty will definitely visit again.
