The station building at Kawaguchiko has many restaurants, shops, souvenir shops and the best part is the observation deck on the roof offering one of the best possible views of Mount Fuji.
This place is not well known but highly recommended for the views.

We had the best Udon Chicken Curry at this station. It is busy and efficient and you feel like a local eating here. Good food options.

Train and bus station. Very busy. Staff is polite and helpful. Although this is a small, bustling station it is efficient and easy to use. It also has a small food court that had quality noodles. They do a good job of moving people through and getting them to the right bus or train

Kawaguchi Station is pretty bustling. The food at the station and surrounding restaurants are pretty pricey, but there is a lot to do.
Fuji Q theme park is just one stop away by train.
Lake Kawaguchi- the biggest of the lakes around Fuji I a ten minute walk away and you can get a nice shot of Fuji from the lake if you walk an extra ten mins once you arrive at the lake. There are also busses to take you around the lake that are also pretty pricey, unless you buy a two day pass. The Shrine I took a picture of this pagoda ( Chureito Pagoda) just 3 shorts stops from Kawaguchiko station by train.

All in all the area offers breathtaking views but is a bit pricey,

It is a smallish station with some photo points in front. It also has a souvenir shop where you can shop before you leave Fuji Five Lakes area. Souvenirs are on the expensive side so we did not buy anything.
