Have been staying at the hotel for a week with my 4 years old daughter. Positive – friendly staff, excellent food, good facilities, good value for money, nice people visiting, meaning good company... Negative – not easy to reach from the UK, the kindergarten ski school is crap, after 3 days I almost lost my daughter’s for ski... Why no one has told me we have alternatives, but kept charging me?! The kindergarten in general is for parents, who want to get rid of their children for a while and enjoy themselves, which wasn't my case... This lady Alex better starts doing something else, not working with children...The lack of snow didn't help us either, it was more spring than winter

We've stayed in this hotel twice this year already, and are definitely planning to come again. The friendliness and readiness to help of the owners and the staff of the hotel are remarkable. The food is very good, the portions are just right in size (something you rarely have in Austria:), and is available practically all day long. The only limitation one is facing is the fact that ski slopes are some 15-20 min drive away. However, there are free buses in the morning and in the afternoon, so this is more a matter of a discipline;) There is a nice children playroom, a great lake right in front of the hotel where one can skate, and a thermal spa complex, including a swimming pool for children and saunas. Highly recommended! The only thing: it was quite hot in the rooms (probably, to counter the cold outside), and we never figured out how to lower the temperature:)

Hi ! I just want to share my experience with everyone who schedule to spend a holiday with family or friends - this hotel is right choice ! I spend a week, winter holiday, with my family and with my friends. First of all, wellness is amazing, indoor pool, outdoor pool, steam bath, sauna, area for kids - indoor pool... Also you can try to skate on ice, hockey and curling on tennis court in the yard of hotel... everything is excellent and icluded ! If you want to visit Villach, Klagenfurt or Salzburg, you can rent their car cheaply. Nature environment is gorgeous, in front of hotel is a little lake which was iced ! Food is, also, very good, wide choice... We enjoyed the taste of grandma's cookies after skiing. And, finaly, the hotel staff are very friendly, with a lot of patience and you have a feel that they are there especially for you ! I hope that we will spend a summer holiday at this hotel !
With best wishes !

Despite most other amenities being good, with the exception that for the Kids entertainment beyond 6 years old it is largely left to themselves, the Food experience is absolutely simply dire. So bad in fact as to tarnish the overall experience even if they do well in any other areas. I would not recommend, as given the location, it is vital that after before, during and after a day's activity you can expect better than what they serve.
Whilst it is 'usual' for some places to re-serve previous items from a meal before, it would not be so bad but for the fact that the food was just so bad the first time around never might a 2nd time around, perhaps why they have so much to re-sever the 2nd time around?!
Then there is the fact that if one is not present early for either Breakfast or Lunch they failed to adequately ensure the poor food offering is available (you could see this I suppose as a 'kindness in a way). It is an extreme shame they have let themselves down so badly with such a poor performance, consistently across all meals times every day - and this despite the fact that the owners openly take from the same meals given to guests (so no excuses for not knowing what is given to Guests). I know Austrian cuisine, as I have visited both privately and on business numerous times before, throughout Austria and they can do so much better than what is served here, thus if this is your first experience of Austrian Cooking, please be aware it is not all like this!

We, the owner family of the hotel, we were very disappointed about some of your comments.
Hardly ever our food has been critisized and never before described as bad as you did.

First of all we admit that we sometimes use some of our ingredients for more than just one type of meal. The reason for it isn´t that we want to get rid of them but to enhance the given offer with additional seasonal food items, which is absolutely normal in every hotel.

We recently changed our chef and since then the response we got so far was more than positive.

Our breakfast offers a large variety of mueslis, jams, meats, cheeses, juices and breads (we even offer a variety of different honey types). We also have a chef at the buffet, who freshly cooks all types of egg dishes to your liking. In case a food item runs out we refill it straight away. The management does not really understand how it is possible not to get what you desire as we also ask personally if there is anything which is missing (in terms of "is the guest happy or wishes to get something else").

We also enhanced our lunch offer some time ago as there is always an alternative in case the given offer is not to somebody´s liking. The lunch comprises a salad buffet with at least 8 types of salad, a clear beef broth with at least 3 choices of ingredients such as noodles, dumplings, profiteroles.... plus the above mentioned 2 types of warm dishes. We even have Ice Cream for free after the meal for adults as well as for children.

Here it is sometimes possible that, especially when we have rush hour (when the ski bus returns from the mountain), the buffet gets empty very quickly. But here again: If something is missing we refill it ASAP which might take a few minutes as we make it fresh.

In the afternoon we offer a cake buffet and a savoury snack which is all included in the price. Our cakes are done by our confectioner and are always fresh, the savoury snack varies from day to day and could be sausages, goulash soup, different types of ham or a spread. All typical Austrian dishes!!!

Dinner, besides a daily salad buffet, gives a choice of 2 starters, 2 soups, 3 main courses and a dessert or cheese. It is barely immaginable not to find something which fits as you marked our whole performance as very poor.

We are certainly anything but perfect but the way you described our kitchen is a personal insult to us as you also mentioned the owners taking from the same "awful" food. No owner would eat from a buffet knowing that it is not good, especially not in a family-run business. Our family would eat different stuff, if the quality was not up to a certain standard or we would have already changed our kitchen style in case the guests are not happy.

As a sports resort specialized in families we certainly don´t offer gourmet food but food which definetely falls in line with a four star hotel in Austria. The ingredients are mostly local and freshness plays a very important role at our hotel. In general it can be said that Austrian cuisine "has" a high standard and a very critical crowd already within its borders which would not even allow a standard as low as described in your post.

We apologize for your inconvenience caused by our performance. But most of this was avoidable if you have skoken to use during your stay as we also offer menu changes to everybody´s liking on request.

We travelled with two small childrens from Barcelona to Vienna with a plain, after 3 hours with a car to Feld am See. Nice view, nice trip.

Smal and warm hotel. Perfect cleans rooms. Great food for adults and children menue during all the days. Perfectly organised children club and activities.

Definitely we advice to take this hotel to the parents who would like to have a unique possibility to take a rest and be in family. It was our first trip in Kinderhotels chain and defenitely we will repeat.
