We had a great lunch, terrific sea food and good coffee. A most enjoyable experience.

As above. Lovely food. We had sea food soup. Served with mussel shells and prawns. Gimilick goujons and chips. Very tasty. Good value. Would go back.
Did not stay but had a very loveley meal. The food tasted great, was fresh and presented in a lovely way. The staff was nice and very attentive. The hotel itself was a bit dated, but that is sort of part of the charm of a place like this.
Didn't stay but ate there twice on holiday - once in the restaurant and once from the bar menu (sat outside in the glorious sunshine).
The meal in the restaurant was lovely with appertisers of mini pizzas and fruit puree ravioli - really yummy. Had the Sassermaet Scotch Egg which was really tasty.
Bar meals were good value with great portions and quality - heard an American sat on the bench next to us say "God this fish is good" - and my husband agreed when he had the same!
Staff really friendly on both occasions - would recommend if you're in Scalloway.
if you remember the Scalloway Hotel of old, put all these memories out of your mind, I did, and was pleased I did, we ate there one night, simply some of the best food I have has in Shetland in the last 25 years
however, the service was just ok, lacking in the finer details, some fine tuning would not go amiss, and clean the walls by the table at the front by the window!!!!
we didn't stay so can not comment on the rooms of breakfast
This is a small hotel with very present and hands-on owners who clearly have great ideas for the place. Some of the refurbishment is lovely - Shetland wool carpets, sheepskins as throws on the bed, local wool curtains. The food is excellent. The bar is lively and well-used by locals and guests. Sometimes service seemed a little overstretched in the restaurant, as they were very busy, but always friendly and caring about getting it right. The cleaning staff were also chatty and helpful!
