It was a lovely stay here and enjoyed the beautiful scenery a lot. The staff are very helpful and good. The only problem here is just 2hrs you will get electricity from 7pm till 9pm but they give candles if you want to stay up late.
The view is awesome and I will say the best in the whole region. Taking a stroll in the forest is great but if you are looking for birds or animals you are to be an extreme lucky person to spot one..!!
I saw a cow 10 monkeys 3 deers 1 raven only the time i stayed there.
They say around 2am leopards come out. Dont really know as didnt really want to venture out so late at night.
The rooms are of good size and the bathroom is very big. We took a family room and the bathroom was as big as a room!!
It was a great stay in the hotel and we will sure to be back again as the views are the best in the whole Kumaon Himalayas!!

Having traveled here from Kasauni, the mountain views were not as much a novelty to us as let's say if we had come from Ramnagar. But the views of the Himalayas at dawn were still amazing.

The hotel is pretty much in the mould of a 'Dak Bungalow' or the old school British rest houses in Kumaon. Charming and fragile in parts, it resembles a Forest Rest House more than a tourist hotel.

Although it creates some discomfort at times, the hotel is run on solar power which we loved so much. It means that electricity is limited and only available for 2-3 hours (at best) in the evening. Make sure you know this before you plan, as for people with medical needs it can be discomforting.

The manager, Mr. Narayanan, was probably one of the most polite people we've ever met. He got us in touch with some great guides for trekking and helped make the experience a good one.

Food is so-so (veg meals) and is usually included in the tariff. Opt for some snacks like Maggi etc. if on a longer stay as things can get monotonous.

Awesome Location.

Booked the hotel thru KMVN online booking. When we reached the hotel after 4 hrs drive from Kathgodam railway station and checked in out room things were very normal as usual like other hotels. But when we went out of the room to the back side of the hotel to the terrace, we were spellbound by the vista. No competition of the vista from the terrace of this property and undoubtedly one of the best.

Food is very home like and simple and served hot. Loved it. Go to this resort for chilling out in the sun and doing nothing but gazing at mighty himalayas.

Walk up to the zero point thru the jungle and watch out for monkeys, deers and birds. Views are equally amazing from Zero Point.

Definitely a return trip is called for. Thanks for such a nice experience. Copy the link below to see shots i took during this trip.

We stayed at KMVN Binsar for two nights in October. We had made our bookings months in advance. We were prepared to be without electricity for most of the day (and night) but what we were unprepared for was the appalling condition of the rooms. The first rooms we were shown were so dingy, filthy and smelly that we refused to occupy them. They moved us to another set of rooms which we were forced to accept because there was absolutely no alternative. The toilets were grungy, there was hair everywhere, the table-tops etc. were unclean and the bed linen was stained. The rooms smelt of mould. Overall, it was an extremely unpleasant and unhealthy experience. Fortunately the next set of KMVNs we stayed at (Chaukori and Munsiyari) were a huge improvement.

"Simply superb" this was the first line came up from each of my friend after seeing the outer view and location of this guesthouse. I had visited Binsar in April 2010 when summer was bothering us in Delhi. Binsar is a very nice place. But if you want to enjoy the zero point view, dont miss the staying at KMVN guesthouse. The location is numero uno. Food is average but you cant expect very good food of you choice nearby.

The pros: location, staff, big area, nice parking space
The cons: no electricty ( But I didnt mind)
