This tree has very important historical and religous importance as it is said that lord Ram took rest under this tree in his journey. During british period people climbed this tree and jumped into ganges to death as it was believed that people get moksha if they do so . However this tree can only be seen through outside as this lies inside the fort built by Mughal emperor Akbar and is currently occupied by The Indian Army and civilians are restricted to enter this highly militariesed area (this fort is called OD or ordanance depot where arms and ammo is kept). Civilians are not allowed inside the army fort. But this tree can be viewed from the Ganga by a boat ride
