It had lovely view and a fancy name. But that's it. The food had limited choices and the kitchen area looked little dirty too. It is definitely overrated. We went looking at the Zomato and Tripadvisor rating but were thoroughly dissappointed.

I'd say you should visit other shacks around and skip this one.

We arrived in Mahabs at lunch time so once we dropped our bags at our guest house we immediately went here as it was close by and we'd read about it. With only four tables it was a lot smaller than I imagined it would be.
Staff were polite and the simple food we ordered (omlette etc) was very nice.
I must admit I expected their to be some reggae music playing instead of the jazz.

We just popped in here for a cold beer after a crazy hot day exploring the ruins, we went all the way to the top and it was incredible. The views over the beach and the Seashore Temple are great and I would highly recommend it.

This was the first stop after we have land in India.
We came to Bob Marley Cafe by an advice from a friend.
We got to this place late night straight from airport and wè felt very welcome. They offered food and water for free because we didn't have dinner before we got here.
Robert, The Owner is a very pleasant person and very professional.
The place is amazing very peacefull just next to the beach.
We just felt that we could live here forever. Definitely we recommend it to everyone we know.
They help you with everything and they also give some good tips to make your experience in Mahabalipuram the best one you could have.

Went there for an evening party. Great food (limited cuisine options), great view of sea and fishing area, and very back-pack type ambiance,

Not for the family-oriented crowd, with grand parents and children..

Approach to the cafe is tricky, with narrow roads and congested by-lane.Difficult to find car park.

That aside, certainly worth a first and second visit to experience Goa-like shack environment (minus the liquor options!!).
