Only scenic things in Pelling would be Kanchanjangha maountains.
That is probably best viewed from "Elgin Mount Pandim Pelling" hotel.

Our room overlooked the Kanchenjunga. We were very lucky that we had a clear view, no haze etc to obstruct a magnificent view right from our window. It also was a moonlight night. Need I say more? Heavenly!

Hotel, itself is very elegantly decorated, rooms almost having the B&B feel. It is a "heritage" property which captures the nostalgia of a era bygone. The dinner was (buffet style) was very good although I think the Elgin Nor-Khil in Gangtok trumps this. I would certainly come back foR the view

Room Tip: Of course ask for the rooms facing the K2

My wife, Hema, and I spent five nights here and were wonderfully looked after by the Guest relations manager, Tshering Squire and her very handy and witty Australian husband, Ian. They made our stay exceptional and memorable. The upstairs room overlooking the mountains and gardens was perfect for early morning viewing despite the clouds and mists in pre-monsoon June. The mountains, valleys, waterfalls unfold before your eyes. Dining room staff very attentive and helpful., esp. Lalita. The owner has wisely kept many trees at the edge of the garden and exotic birds are readily seen. Lovely flowers cared for by a hard working young gardener. Sweet and fluffy Russian Samoyeds romp around the grounds while you enjoy tea in the garden or the lovely public room. The hotel is a good setting in which to strike up easy conversations with interesting fellow travelers. One of the oldest Buddhist monasteries is within walking distance.

Room Tip: Try to get an upstairs room overlooking garden and mountains.

i checked in the hotel on 25/06 and stayed there for 3 days. it is one of the best heritage property and in the best location situated on the monastry road , little away from the main town ,it is situated on the mountain pandim which is in the middle of clouds, huge landscped gardens, and the rooms as well as dining hall have a direct view of kanchanjunga peak ,it is a very memorable stay and one can spend the day gazing the mountains and their peaks. i highly recommend the said property.

Room Tip: goom on the 1st and 2nd floor are good and all rooms have the same view

I visited this hotoel in January and it was very cold but more enjoyable. Would recomend that if you travel by Train to Jalpaiguri, take a innova or one of the local large cars as the road leading up to the peling is not the best (very bumpy) and narrow and try and avoid travel towards evening time (though the drivers are great) you will be left closing your eyes as part of the journey is quiet challenging.

The hotel looks like one typicall english country side location, beautiful timber structure with cozy rooms though the rooms are not centrally heated, they have bed side heaters which give you warth but thats about it. The food was not something you would go gaga over and something which can be improved.

A must is the morning view, if you are lucky you will get to the see the beautiful mountain ranges while lazing/having tea in bed. This is a vacation if you want some quiet time and solitude, you will have your battery charged for sure....

Room Tip: Take a lot of warm clothes and chose the corner most room on the first floor, you will never forget...
