We stayed here in Nov 15 having subsequently travelled throughout a lot of India, Ramathra remains one of our favourite places. It is not easy to get to and we would recommend staying for several days. We had the deluxe room with a huge balcony overlooking an incredible view, spending many hours with binoculars watching antelope, hyenas, wild dogs, peacocks, camels, buffalo and many varieties of birds. The restoration of the fort was ongoing and magnificent and it felt like a privilege to be there. The food was superb and the staff (all from the local village) were excellent. Highly recommend the walk to the village and just experiencing a way of life which you could imagine hasn't changed for many centuries. All in all an incredible place to stay but do spend enough time there to be able to relax and enjoy this treasure.
