Shri Jagannath Temple situated at Sector - 4 in Bhilai. The temple is worth watching and it has glimpse of Odisha culture. The celebrations are in itself a picture of festivals and are done with great pomp & show. The Rath Yatra starts from here and goes to sector 10 ground and then returns back at this temple, one feels that he is in Puri.
Strongly recommend to visit the Temple when in Bhilai or near by. May Lord Jagannath bless the ones visiting the temple.

It was 1st of April 2017. Every year, Utkal Divis is celebrated at the Jagannath Temple Auditorium in Sector 4, Bhilai. I was in Mumbai. I got a call that I would be the Key Note Speaker at the Utkal Divas function. I had agreed as I was returning to Bhilai on 30th March 2017. My daughter was also coming to Bhilai with her mother-in-law the next day.
We reached the temple where the day Odisha was declared a separate state was to be celebrated as Utkal Divas, had our darshan of the Lord at Jagannath Temple and Shiv Mandir and went straight to the hall where the function was to be held. The function started on the arrival of the Chief Guest, the General Manager (Personnel) of Bhilai Steel Plant. It was quite late in the evening and the children were waiting for their performances to be staged. So, I decided to deliver a short speech. It was just one line, "Let us learn Odia." (Being outside Odisha, most of our children cannot read and write Odia!)
The Chief Guest also gave a short speech. Then, the programme by children started. They were attractive. It was a short and well organised programme.
In the end, dinner was served to all the artistes, their parents and the audience!

Jagannath Temple is located in Sector 4 in Bhilai. This is a place you can visit when you are in Bhilai. We had been there in the month of February on the occasion of Saraswati Puja. This puja is celebrated every year by an organisation known as Kalinga Jyoti.
It was a good gathering of old friends too.
You can visit the temple on any day 24x7.

Yes, it was the occasion of Basant Panchami, Saraswati Puja. Every year, members of Kalinga Jyoti gather in the auditorium of Jagannath Temple on the occasion of Saraswati Puja. This year, it was observed on 01-02-2017. We reached there at 12 noon. We had darshan of Lord Jagannath, Lord Shiva and then we went to the hall. The puja had just started. We sat there. Gradually, friends came in, one by one. As the regular pujari had not come, one of the members performed the puja, chanting mantras reading from his mobile.
After puspanjali and aarati, chudaghasa bhog (which was prepared there) was given to everyone. Then we sat down on the floor to be served with lunch. It was simple and plain. it did suit our taste. We talked to our friends after that for a while and then left. The group of organisers immerse the idol in the evening on the same day.
