Jagannath Temple is located in Sector 4 in Bhilai. This is a place you can visit when you are in Bhilai. We had been there in the month of February on the occasion of Saraswati Puja. This puja is celebrated every year by an organisation known as Kalinga Jyoti.
It was a good gathering of old friends too.
You can visit the temple on any day 24x7.

Yes, it was the occasion of Basant Panchami, Saraswati Puja. Every year, members of Kalinga Jyoti gather in the auditorium of Jagannath Temple on the occasion of Saraswati Puja. This year, it was observed on 01-02-2017. We reached there at 12 noon. We had darshan of Lord Jagannath, Lord Shiva and then we went to the hall. The puja had just started. We sat there. Gradually, friends came in, one by one. As the regular pujari had not come, one of the members performed the puja, chanting mantras reading from his mobile.
After puspanjali and aarati, chudaghasa bhog (which was prepared there) was given to everyone. Then we sat down on the floor to be served with lunch. It was simple and plain. it did suit our taste. We talked to our friends after that for a while and then left. The group of organisers immerse the idol in the evening on the same day.

Kartik Purnima is an occasion, when you should visit Jagannath Temple and seek blessings of the Lord! Kirtan goes on for 24 hours! It was started at about 9 AM on the Kartik Purnima day. Continuous chanting of 'Hare Rama, Hare Rama, Rama Rama, Hare Hare; Hare Krushna, Hare Krushna, Krushna, Krushna, Hare Hare' goes on for twenty four hours. People change. But the chanting goes on non-stop. Prasada in the form of lunch/ dinner is offered to devotees visiting the temple!
We had visited the temple in the morning and participated in the Kirtan at the beginning of the Asta Prahari as it is called!
