Second visit to this great property which is set in a lovely location. A wonderful setting for a family xmas. Despite the cooker breaking down on 23rd December a new one was fitted on Christmas Eve, thanks to Christopher and Maxim who saved the day. Snowed in one day due to but walking in the area was very picturesque then back to the cottage for a warm up in front of the woodburner. We will definitely be back

“Hoilday spoit by the smell of cat urine in Master bedroom/needed a lot of airfresner”
Reviewed 4 October 2017 for a stay in August 2017

Looks are deceptive?? ,though,lovely surroundings.
Firstly open grounds onto road keep dogs on the lead and you will need wellies to access the river very muddy steep path.
Inside very well presented though to much spent on nick naks/photos/window junk etc.
Cooker very loud when in use sounds like the fans gone, needed to buy a new tin opener as the one supplied was useless.
Don't drop a plate or cup or you will have to pay for it (price list in kitchen).
Though no body noticed half the crockery was missing anyway.
Four forks for six people four mugs one with a crack in it,the sofas in the living room, people in the middle sat on wood, telephone supplied doesn't work also no phone signal so forget wifi
Otherwise Langholm very nice place would visit area again though not this under equipped cottage
BASIC 3 star accomodation

“A beautiful cosy cottage in secluded grounds”
Reviewed 10 June 2017 for a stay in June 2017

We had a very pleasant 5 night stay with our two dogs, the cottage is beautiful, well decorated and furnished to a high standard and feels just like home. Langolhm centre is only 10 minutes away by car with a large co-op store. Mabie forest was our favourite woodland walk , the dogs loved it, jumping in and out of various streams, just past Gretna, the southern coastline beaches of southernnessand sandy hills to mention just a couple are lovely. The sweetheart abbey at New Abbey has a great tea room called cottage tea rooms, the staff and service are brilliant. All in all a great stay, Christopher the owner is so helpful and a pleasure to deal with, thank you, we will definitely be going back.

The location is wonderful with perfect views of the river and surrounding countryside. The village of Langholm is close by and has everything you need. The cottage was very nicely furnished and very comfortable.
We took our two dogs and had plenty of walks around the surrounding area.
We would definitely go back again and would recommend it to any of our friends and family.
