We had a late Saturday night booking just before Christmas. A warm welcome at the bar, literally, warm open fire & cheery bar staff. The menu was varied & plenty of choices, a little fussy for me, but my wife & friends were very happy. What we had was well presented, very tasty. The service was excellent, nothing too much trouble, even the bar staff ensured we were happy with the meal. A little bit on the pricey side, bit it was a special occasion.

Dear stephen_manney56

I am catching up with my review responses! Thank you for writing about your visit here last year...now.

So glad you a great visit and I note you mention the price aspect of your visit - well, as you say it was a special occasion and this is what I emphasise to all my staff - how in most cases, our guests are being treated or treating themselves for a personal special occasion and to ensure that we try our utmost to make the occasion extra special as much as possible without going overboard. Low key but attentive in every way.

Thank you for posting this review.

Time for another visit!

Best wishes

Catkin, Giles and the Bedingfeld team

Dear Bumshanky

Thank you for reporting on your visit to the Bedingfeld (4th Jan).

As you can see from the rest of the reviews, it is rare when we disappoint our guests and so we take note if we fall short in any way.

We are a large team with many playing a role and from time to time, there is a glitch - we are trying to ensure that there is always a back up check up if that makes sense. Someone along the chain has let us/you down in not putting on the underfloor heating in good time (the opposite sometimes occurs where it gets left on at 30 degrees which plays havoc for our finances), the TV signals usually work so maybe they just needed to be reset and not being asked about your stay probably was because a young staff member was nervous to ask you.

I apologise for your discomfort and disappointment.

It is probably a good idea to ask to speak to a manager if you are unable or concerned with any aspect of your stay.

Much relieved to say you did rate your bed as comfy and that the location is a pleasant one.

We hope to welcome you back.

With best wishes

Decided to have a different new year, so went to Norfolk with the dog for a couple of days. Booked the Bedingfield Arms online as it was dog friendly. The rooms are in the drive for dog friendly people and are lovely, clean with a big bed and wonderful shower. The pub has been refurbished and is lovely, the staff are very friendly and allowed the dogs in the bar. The food is wonderful, we had breakfast and evening meal and both were top class. The Manager Giles gave us a map of walks around the village which were very helpful. The whole weekend was superb, thanks mainly to the friendly people in the village, a real gem

Dear Gary P

Thank you for your excellent feedback and high scoring. We were thrilled to receive this and delighted that we have not disappointed you in any way - It seems we may well be worth a detour!

Giles always goes beyond the call of duty in helping put guests at their ease and helping in any way possible. His good nature and friendliness percolates through to the rest of his fabulous team of helpers out front, in the kitchen and in house keeping.

Looking forward to welcoming you perhaps in the Summer for a different style of stay - so many dog friendly walks nearby.

With best wishes,

Catkin

One of the top 13 places fro Sunday lunch in Norfolk according to local press. And it was very good. Lunch is served from 12 noon to 8pm - there are alternatives to traditonal roast; but the main point is the roast (It does a full menu on other days). Good choice of starter, roasts were a choice of pork or beef (or a combo). Had the beef - excellant. Nice choice of puds too.

We were there late - 6pm on a November day; so it was quiet. Very relaxed atmosphere, fire in the grate - all cosy. Staff were attentive. All round very good indeed.

Four of us had Sunday lunch here. Although it was very busy, the service was fast and friendly. We all had the Sunday roast which was excellent value for money, very tasty and well presented. They also keep an great pint of Wherry.
