It is one of the oldest Fort of Maharashtra. There is nothing much in the fort but trekking here is fun.

Visited on 19th July 2015. It was crowded. If you have your car, you can drive upto the bottom of the fort where the steps to the top start. It takes not more than 30 mins to climb these steps to top, if you go continuously. But people usually take photographs on the way. There were many families with kids and even with old people climbing to the top. The view from the top is awesome. You will get vada-pav and tea at top. Worth a go.

Tip:
1) Carry water and snacks.
2) Beware of monkeys on the way. They can snatch eatables if holding in hands. Keep eatables in the bag.

This place is about 15 kms drive from Lonavla and one has to cross the level crossing at Nangargaon to go to the eastern side of the railway line. It is available on Google maps so finding it should be easy.
The final few kms of the drive has some very steep roads and a SUV will come in very handy though the overall road quality is OK. One can reach upto the base of the fort by car, though parking is a pain because of narrow road and stalls alongside. There is a toll of Rs.30/- to be paid.
The climb seems safe and not very strenous. There are steps ( though broken at places). It does get crowded on weekends especially in the rains.
Just as you begin the climb there are a lot of stalls and you would certainly get tempted to buy corn(bhuttas). Please make sure you finish eating them before you start climbing otherwise monkeys will take them away from you. Do not carry any foodstuff in your hand.
The weather at the top is simply awesome, with the breeze almost like a mini gale and makes the trip worthwhile. There are hardly any structures apart from a couple of temples which are also not maintained well. Overall extremely good.
