From the limited options of luxury hotels that Dapoli has to offer, the top 2 rated hotels 'Comfort Inn' and 'Fern Samali' are way away from the seafront. There is where 'Exotica Suvarna Samudra' scores brownie points. This one isn't located on the seaface either but offers infinity view of the Arabian Sea from the hilltop that it is perched on. Despite being almost 2 kms away from the coast, the resort has mesmerizing and panoramic view of the sea, which you might not get even from a property situated on the beach. Of course if you prefer to spend most of your time on the beach, then this one's not the best option.

But the resort pretty much compensates for its access to the beach with the other luxuries and amenities it has to offer. Cottages are built in Balinese style. We opted for the 'Balinese Luxury' room which had an additional living room, which doubled as the bedroom for my mother and our kids. With 5 pax, it still had sufficient space. There is an attached balcony where we enjoyed our meals and snacks alongside the endless views of the sea. However, the tower AC in the living room did make some noise and could not make up for the cooling of a split AC. Opt for the rooms on the upper floors as they give better views of the sea as compared to the ones below. The bushes under the balcony need some cleaning and trimming, though.

The service at the resort is impeccable.  Lunch and snacks were served at our room at no extra cost (most resorts levy service charge on room service). Water, towels, tea or starters - everything was just a call away.

Food at their glass-walled restaurant is absolutely delicious. They have limited options with Indian and Chinese cuisine on their menu but excel in whatever they prepare. We had only vegetarian meals and loved everything from Paneer Handi, Dal Khichdi, Hakka Noodles, Schzewan Rice to soups and starters. The restaurant manager Zeeshan catered to all our needs gratefully. The complimentary breakfast, however, had limited options with poha and sandwiches and left a lot to be desired.

In amenities, the resort has a swimming pool, game room with carrom, pool table, table tennis, fuseball board and also a functional gym. The pool could have been cleaned better and the same goes for the changing rooms at the poolside. The free wifi has limited range and speed. Unlike most resorts, the access road to this one is pretty smooth but on a steep 70 degree slope and one has to be really careful while driving, particularly on the upwards climb.

Everything from the room tariff to the food rates at restaurant offer an absolute value for money deal. The Balinese Elegant room, the second most expensive room at the resort is at Rs 5500. Extra Adult Rs 1500. Extra child Rs 750. Child below 6 - Complimentary. Thankfully they accommodated all 5 of us in 1 room, while most other resorts would have asked us to take 2 rooms. GST @ 12% only, while most other places charge 18%.
In food, sabzi is in range of Rs 280, biryani - Rs 200, soup - Rs 140, tea - Rs 25, ice cream - Rs 100, milk - Rs 70 (refer menu card images for detailed rates). All these rates are quite reasonable for a fine dine restaurant. An average meal for 4 shall cost around Rs 1000-1200. 5% GST on food. No extra charge for Room service. Hotel manager Nihad allowed me to pay through credit card and the swipe machine worked despite limited network. I suggest you check directly with the hotel for best tariffs rather than booking through other online websites.

Thanks to its ideal location, impeccable service, delicious food and value for money deal, 'Exotica Suvarna Samudra' is the most apt choice to stay in Dapoli.

The Property is very good and well maintained having birds eye view of the sea . But it is the courteous and helpful staff which makes the stay even better. They never say no to anything. The Food is too good. Solkadi is excellent. the buffet breakfast could add few more choices. They play good old hindi music in evening around garden adding to nostalgia.

I am quite late to write this review. In last one month I happen to visit Dapoli twice. Its beautiful small coastal town. When you start searching for best property in Dapoli, you cannot ignore this property. Moment you get pictures of property on Google or which ever site you are looking at. You are sure that you wish to stay in this property and you won't be disappointed with decision.

Best things about the property is location. In both sense access to beach and view.
From Harne Beach you take a road to the hill and you reach to this property. At the entrance you get amazed looking at the structure. You wonder from where does this south eastern structure have come up in middle of small town.

Moment you enter in gate you see clean white and red(actual colour can something else have to pardon me for my colour definition) building. Each room is at the top of hill and with view to sea.

There are lot of places suggested for sunset in Dapoli, but my view is that property restaurant is one the best place to see sun set with family and friends or alone with cup of coffe.

Food - though in dapoli you wish to eat Konkani food, but if you are one of those who don't want to repat and have multicusine you are right place. In Dapoli you have limited options. (Comfort inn and Fern) but no one will give the view that property offer. It's good food

Staff - don't have one word to describe all. Courteous, smiling and caring

Management - unlike any other property owner is there personally to look after operations and making sure that everything is seemless. I have to make good connect with him .

Parking - you have decent amount of car parks available though there can be some challenge as it's up hill and down hill. But staff manage to get you car parked
