This pub is how it should be. It is clean, has real ales on and is a place to have a conversation or conversely be on your own, it doesn't go in for loud music or sporting events blaring on the TV and I can safely say it is one of the best pubs in the area, probably just pushing into my personal top twenty pubs nationally.
I have eaten here several times and without being patronising it isn't fine cuisine, it is just good, solid home cooked food at a decent price, meals like mince and dumplings, chips etc , the portions are generous as well, If you are after a good pub lunch then you won't go wrong here.
It is just off the main street in town and as such is ideally placed and compared to some of the dives in town as well as in its own right this pub is a real gem.More
