“Nice and spacious, clean and friendly”
Reviewed 26 November 2011

A bit far away, is one of the last stops on rhanthambore road near the oberoi vantage vilas. Otherwise a great place to relax with friendly service and spacious rooms. 2600rps for a double suite with ac.

Do not book a safari for balas (zone 8). There are few animals there... Best is zone1-5 the main park, or 2nd is kundal (zone 6). I did kundal and saw 2 tigers (was very lucky)!!!

There are certain things which goes for the Hotel:
- the location is very good. Its very close to the jungle and provides a beautiful backdrop from the terrace
- the staff is courteous and helpful

And then there are things which can certainly do with some improvement:
- biggest among them is food. very basic fare available. Items on menu are not available at all times and the taste can also definitely be improves
- the stay can be made more comfortable with modernising the rooms and bathrooms a bit (one plug point is simply not adequate in these days of multiple gadgets)

That said, the hotel has to find ways of making the travellers stay more interesting. Ranthambore doesnt have anything besides the national park (and the fort / temple). If the traveller has missed the safari in one of the mornings / evenings of his stay, the hotel should provide some options to make the his time spent worthwhile. It can be a nature trail, some activity, spa anything. But right now, its just a room and food available and any extra time spent can become boring.

Room Tip: Have heard swiss tents are not very comfortable but havent tried them personally.

the location is the best part about this hotel. its dead on in the park. The food was simply ok, actually it was below par. The rooms were small, but comfortable. It is a very good property but needs a fair amount of maintenance. they helped us with our safari tour when we missed ours on day 1, very helpful that way

I stayed at the Hotel Vinayak with my family in Sep 2011. Clean AC rooms. Decent helpful staff. Swiss tents are a option but not very secure due to the cloth flap door (the bathrooms attached to the Swiss tents are good and clean). Food was decent and tasty. Biggest (and only) problem was that for any change to the Safari booking, getting local transport to the Forest Booking office sowntown was a painful thing to arrange. If you do booking the safari online from before, the Hotel sends a chap on your behalf to do this, so it is not very troublesome in that case. BUT if you have to make any chages to a online booking, then you have to do it yourself and it becomes very difficult to do. Got very good tips on wildlife viewing spots. A definite good choice for stay in Ranthanbore. S.Kar

Room Tip: Rooms on the first floor have more sun coming in. All rooms have a bay window bed with a mattress an...

+ Plus
- strong RTDC network
- nice, peaceful location
- restaurant facility available
- hotel has a nice souvenir shop for shopaholics
- arranged for our Safari trip
-free buffet breakfast
- luxurious tents
- big facility

Minus(-)
- too spicy, oily food
- exorbitant food cost ( Chapati-INR 10, sabji- 75-80, curd-40, rice- 40, egg curry-80, 1lit mineral water-30 etc)
- you will feel the need for a AC esp if you are staying in the tents during the afternoon

Overall, though we couldnt see a tiger, the 2 day trip was more than welcome
