“Feel like royals”
Reviewed 12 March 2012

wonderful experience. Royally treated for the entire stay. Each and every guest is welcomed royally. It is located at khimsar a very small town. A big royal heritage 5 star property in remote rajasthan almost 2 hours drive from Jodhpur airport. At the entrance u can c fleet of vintage cars well polished condition in the garage displayed, which were used by the kings in olden times. The structure of the hotel is combination of new structure but still authentic to royal taste with very old remains of heritage fort of the king. The whole hotel is design in such away that it gives u a royal kingdom feel. With the facility of amphitheatre / feature film theatre / temple of shiva / fitness centre with latest equipments / international spa / souvenier shops / restaurant / tabela bar in the lawn area next to swimming pool. Lawn is very green u feel like relaxing in evening. Night dinners r arranged open air with lantern on round tables. Nights r so pleasant and morning r with lots of freshness with peacock playing in the lawns. U will feel Very peaceful like in the hands of nature. Staff take care of u personally with respect and honour. continental and indian food specially mouth licking rajasthani food served in restaurant. In winters day temp is good but summers r very hot. In the evening hotel entertain their guests with a magic show / puppet show / and kalbelia girl dancers dancing on the tune of rajasthani musicians. Unforgettable experience. Rooms r huge with wooden carved furniture, arches and pillar. Bathrooms r too spacious with a bathtub. The hotel also arranges for sand dunes safari in open jeeps which 6 to 7 km from the hotel.

U will be in love with this place

Its a royal invitation. .

Room Tip: rooms next to big lawn overseeing pool .

What a fabulous experience. Awkward to get to and nothing of note nearby, but it was a great break away from the maddening crowds. All previous reviews say it all. Majestic surrounds, great rooms, entetainment and food. After an initial hic-cup of people walking into room without knocking it was a wonderful experience.

Room Tip: I would think all rooms are excellent.

My stay at the khimsar fort palace is truly a cherished memory. There is a royal aura in every experience at the hotel. The rooms are spacious and befittingly decorated. The one we stayed in (preferred category) had a private terrace that had a breathtaking view of the desert. All the meals were rich, scrumptuous and fit for a king! I highly recommend the sunrise/sunset dune safari for an unforgettable view of the horizon and the jeep safari to spot the endangered blackbucks. The staff was wonderful and went out of their way to make us feel pampered. The proximity to Jodhpur makes rail/air connections easier. The fort has been maintained immaculately and it's great value for money. Surprisingly, I found some great bargains at the hotel shops. It's a royal experience indeed.

We were on a trip on road around Rajasthan. One of our friends suggested Khimsar to us. Very skeptically, we booked at Khimsar Fort and Khimsar Dunes. I think this was the best decision we could take! Khimsar fort was like some 5 star resort, rooms were very spacious and clean. The staff were friendly and hospitable. There were interesting folk dances and puppet show and not to forget the magician! However, the food was not something I would call the best!

Khimsar Dunes was the best with mud huts made in the middle of nowhere! An artificial pond in the middle of the dunes with ducks floating around, 'shamiyanas' and 'mashaals', the whole atmosphere was perfect for a perfect holiday! We stayed in the dunes only for a night. I would suggest 2 days at the dunes and 1 day at the fort is a good idea.

It was great experince. good place for two night. Maharja has private sand dunes and a resort there. Lot of entertainment with in the resort as there is nothing to do near by. You have cinema, magic shows , rajasthani folk evening, pool ,badminton, tenis. Good food . The resturant in the ruins is amazing. A memorable stay.
