Khimsar Sand Dunes Village
Ranked #2 of 2 Hotels in Khimsar
Reviewed 16 December 2010

The village is an add-on facility of the Khimsar fort hotel. We were the only guests in the 16 huts and I can truly say it was an experience of a life time. A 7 km ride from the fort in a jeep with the last part on a camel. A short walk up a sand dune and we reached the sunset point where we were served masala chai and biscuits and watched as the sun set in the sand. The staff were extra courteous , they lit a bonfire, though there were only two of us, and went out of their way to make us comfortable. We saw plenty of peacocks and even a fox! The hut was done up in true village style . We woke up in the morning to the chirping of birds, who are attracted to the artificial lake created on the property.
This place is definitely worth a visit.

Hotel was nicely maintain, life was like king size, but service quality can be improved especially manager and all need to improve on soft skill.

Food was average...........mutton was cooked very well.

Rooms were very nicely maintained, you feel like coming in diffrent place, huge space. size of bathroom was like 1BHK flat in Mumbai.

The journey into the Dunes Village is an adventure. You check in at the Fort, then a jeep ride, then a camel (called Raj). The huts are beautiful, a good size and well equiped bathrooms. The resort is so peaceful, you can walk up the sand dunes, watch the sunset, have a beer outside your hut. We had an incredible meal, with about 9 different dishes. Very friendly and attentive staff (just a bit too attentive at times, I can stir my own coffee!) A great place to stay as a break from the hustle and bustle of Rajasthan.

We stay at khimsar during an indipendent 29 days tour.
This property is really beautiful, Good service, perfect food in "a la carte" and in buffet solutions, good view and hight quality cultural programme, impressive spa services.
All these things remains hight quality even in low season and the place worth a visit!
Only a little advice: pool could be cleaner, but i think is difficul to mantain it during this season.
