“Nothing great”
Review of Corbett Falls

Corbett Falls
Reviewed 30 May 2012

If you visit Corbett falls on the way, say from Ramnagar to Nainital, then its worth spending some time, but I thinks its not worthwhile to go there just to see a 15-20 foot waterfall. Plus, its generally crowded during the summers which makes even your photos look not that great.

Very dirty water, too crowded, lot of noise. No sitting and relaxation area. The waterfall in May is not that great at all. No secured place to eat your picnic lunch as there are lots of monkeys around. Waste of time to go and see this place.

The falls are always beautiful, however the areas around are not well maintained. We were unsure if we can really make it upto the falls as one has to really jump below 5 ft to be able to reach the water, no stairs or stones have been placed for easy access. But the place is very crowded with young crowd. The water is good, cold and hits you hard, which is the best part. Parking nearby is good. but the place requires a lot more improvement to make it easily accessible. Also need a better place to change etc after the shower. Limited facilities.

it's a place of joy i must say.its a place where
Corbett falls is very much similar to the famous Kempty falls in Mussoorie, but Corbett falls is not spoiled by tourists and locals as compared to Kempty falls. The cool clear water cascading from a height is a beauty worth admiring. Above all, the passage that leads you to the Corbett Falls will fascinate you much before you reach there. The 1.7 kms long path with chirping and flights of birds send you a clarion call for a heaven ahead. Corbett Fall is undoubtedly beautiful; rustling leaves and killing silence definitely charm every visitor here.

The wide area around the water falls provides very good parking and camping facilities. It is a very nice picnic spot. A nearby attraction is ‘Nature Walk' museum, where one can experience the pure nature in its primitive style and calm.

Entry Fees to Corbett Falls is too low. Photography is allowed free of cost. Bathing is permitted but be careful of slippery-moss-gathered stones as they might make you slip.

45 minutes by jeep from Ramnagar, we arrived to find the beautiful falls absolutely full of Indian men bathing in their underwear (no women in the water). Still this is India so you have to expect this sort of thing. I jumped in the water and had a great time singing and dancing and splashing with many new indian friends. My wife also went for a swim (fully clothed of course). The falls provide a great massage for your head and back, the water is warm but not very clean. I would do it again. There is a great canal to swim in by the dam at Ramnagar where the water is cleaner .
