This gardens is around 155km from Spar in Bannerghatta Road, Bangalore. This will be the first hotel that will come on to your right, so you will not miss it. The place is quite vast and the garden is pretty nice. We had booked this place a week before our trip. There are cottages which are adjacent and seperate also. During off season you may have the option to choose among these cottages. The check-in time is at 12:00 noon, we reached there @ 1:15pm and took a seperate cottage. Room was good however it had the typical damp smell. As soon as we checked in we were invited for lunch and it was good. The garden has carrom board, chess and Table tennis. The carrom board was good enough to play, chess board was looking good, we didn't try though. Am guessing not many people tried it. Table tennis racket was horrible, one racket was just wood and the other had some rubber. After lunch we relaxed in the room for a while and around 4:30pm we went to have a look around Yelagiri. There were only 2 places to go to a boat house and Natural park. We didn't spend too much time outside so we came back to the room. In the evening time we experienced power cut. This is a horrible experience but they were able to manage it well considering Yelagiri being a small town. Dinner was tasty and elaborate. Nights are silent so you will have a peaceful sleep. Generally mobile connectivity will be weak. We got up early thinking will get some good view for photography but nothing much so we went for Breakfast and left from Yelagiri around 10:00am.
In brief
1. Yelagiri can just be a relaxing place and not for vacation.
2. Should try this place in a group may not be good for couples
3. Zeenath Taj Gardens is good bet for this place
4. Weather is pretty much like Bangalore.

Going by the reviews available on the internet, we were forced to believe that Zeenath Taj Gardens was the only decent choice of hotel/ resort available in Yelagiri. And we were not wrong either.

The resort - The resort is built on a sprawling campus. We were a group of 12-15 people including kids. We reserved 6 cottages, of which 4 were attached to each other and the other 2 were situated at a distance. The rooms were good. Just felt it could have been better illuminated. There is no room service, but the overall hospitality was good. The place is not very expensive either.

The Food – Breakfast and Lunch is served in an open area and dinner is served in the dining hall. There is no À la carte facility available and buffet was compulsory. The buffet also did not provide us with many choices as the menu was very limited. The food quality was decent and tasted more like home made food. Overall, the dining experience was decent (considering there isn’t much choice in Yelagiri)

Entertainment – They have a huge lawn for kids to play around and adults to fool around. There is also a park for the kids. One can also find goose to chase around. As far as games/ sports are concerned, the resort offers indoor games like Table Tennis, Chess and Carrom. On request, they also provide cricket balls (tennis/ rubber balls only), volley ball etc.

Concern – Our only point of concern was the snakes, which one could find roaming around freely. Reporting them to the owners/ management was worthless. They simply tell you that “they are harmless”. Out of the 6 rooms, we had to abandon one room (we paid for it), since we found a snake on the rooftop of that room.

Overall, a good place to stay. I wouldn’t recommend Yelagiri in the first place, since I feel there isn’t much to do over there. But if you still decide to go there, make sure you stay at Zeenath Taj Gardens.

The stay was liesurely. No rush. Best way to spend a holiday. The cottages are well laid out and separated from each other by well designed patches of garden. The food service is in form of a buffet spread costing 450/- per head per day. No a-la-carte meals. However the food was homely, hygienic and well presented. Large crowds of IT people book the place for their meetings and conferences. They like the place and come again and again.

I can only say that the entire experiance was heavenly.

The place is conveniently located as soon as the ghat road ends and we enter Yelagiri. There is a signpost which leads to a lane, far from the main road. The property is huge-11 acres, with orchards within. You won't find lush manicures lawns but will get more of a homely feeling. The cottages are spread all over the gardens. Room was clean and tidy. Washroom was clean and hygienic as well. There's an open air dining area where they serve breakfast and lunch.Dining hall is also there which is used during dinner. There's a children's play area and they've quite a few options for indoor games as well. The main attraction is a flock of geese. The staff is very courteous though albeit unprofessional. There's no room service nor any a-la-carte menu or snacks available. They serve buffet breakfast, lunch and dinner. Food is very good-almost like home cooked. The check in was very smooth however the check out took a long time. We had a wonderful time here-amidst the serene greenery. My toddler enjoyed a lot running around the gardens and chasing the geese while we had a great time walking around the estate and enjoying its flora and fauna and our cozy moments in the jhulas in the gardens with a cup of tea. The feel is more of a holiday-home rather than of a resort. We met families almost all of them travelling with kids and some said they come to this place every year! Even we are feeling that we should take this holiday every year-such was our experience at the resort!

Visited Taj Garden on my friend's recommendation. Lovely place to stay. Nice cottage, clean room and wonderful place for a family to visit with kids. They have kids play ground. A big garden with flowers, mango trees, passion fruit trees, guava fruit trees, many other. The gardener helped us to pluck mangos. We had dinner at the resort. Good food with variety of non veg and veg dishes. The only thing we missed in the place is a swimming pool. Yelagiri is on a hill top but it's cool only at nights. During the day time, it was sunny. So, swimming will be a great addition. Hope they do have the pool soon. The Room tariff is reasonable. So, highly recommended if you are visiting yelagiri to relax. Else yelagiri don't have much to see other than artificial lake with boating and a park.
