The flora and fauna maintained in the seashore of Kabini in a rural village of Mysore district is beyond compare and expectations. The 10 acres of land surrounded by water from Banasura Sagar, Wayanad of Kerala is a beautiful point and a confluence of herbal gardens, butterflies, birds, dragonflies and much more. Just sitting in the cottages of Red Earth and opening our eyes to the overwhelming beauty of nature will of course take the visitor to a new world. The fresh air purified by herbal plantations will reacharge our mind and body to a new person. The hospitality, the food, the beauty of nature, the charmness of river Kabini were all a memorable experience. The silence and the music of birds, especially in the morning and evning , made us wish for a return on our next holidays. The Jungle Safari to the nearby Rajiv Gandhi national park was awesome. We saw a number of elephants, deer and a ferocious tiger. A more interesting thing we had noticed was that all the fruits they had served was prepared in their own orchard. The speed boating through river Kabini by experienced staff was also eccentric experience to us. The bicycle ride we had through the river shore brought back our childhood memories.
Overall it was once in a lifetime experience.

Red Earth is located right next to the Kabini River.
The cottages there are beautiful and very comfortable.
The staff is very helpful, and they have a lot of activities within the premise.
They have a bar and a pool table where one can spend a quite evening.
The food is great and they even have cooking classes.

We stayed at Red Earth for 2 nights. The place is ideal for a family getaway. It has nice cottages with individual Jacuzzi, buffet meals with really good options, activities to keep you engaged for 2 days and a play area for kids.

Since the resort is just by the side of the river you could either take a bicycle and ride on the river banks or go and sit on the banks in the evenings watching the birds. The resort also offers safari at the nearby Nagarhole forest (at extra cost) and were even lucky to spot a tiger.

I am writing this on the porch of the Wetlands bar which is surrounded by a moat full of blooming waterlilies. The breeze is blowing cool air and all worries disappear. What a place. Your own rustic cabin that is fully appointed. Great food for all meals at the buffet. Very friendly staff. The property is situated on a lake which moderates the warm air. We are here only 2 nights but wish we could stay longer and just hang out.
