“A real home from Home (only better)”
Reviewed 16 April 2015 for a stay in April 2015

From the moment we arrived this place was everything we could have asked for. The welcome was great (loved the eggs, butter, bread and Jam) and the facilities met our every need. It felt like a home rather than mere accommodation and this helped us to relax as well.

The family were brilliant - Thank You Carol, Sarah, Ryan and the boys - and our two dogs loved being out in the open with other friendly dogs to run around with! Truly a holiday which catered for the whole family (two and four legged together).

The hot tub was great and the Dog and Muffler, everything that it promised to be. The only complaint we had was that the weather was so good we didn't get to use the wood burner in the lounge area.

This is somewhere we will certainly return to - a great all round experience indeed.

“Home from home!”
Reviewed 21 March 2015 for a stay in March 2015

Had a lovely stay at The Acorns last week. House was perfect, so clean and tidy. Lovely welcome pack of fresh farm eggs, butter, bread and preseves. Beds were really comfortable and we loved the log burner. Wifi was available in the hall, or sat on the chair nearest the lounge door, but who wants to spend their holiday on the net anyway!? The owners, Sarah & Ryan couldn't have been more welcoming and friendly, the dogs Murphy & Albie too. Our little dog Milly (mad head) made a new best friend in Albie, and she liked the chickens and goats too, maybe a little too much haha! Went out on a lovely hack on Henry, one of the horses, along with Ryan. Couldn't walk the next day, but hey ho! lol. The Dog & Muffler pub is a 2 min walk away, ate there twice and the food was lovely. Best to bring a torch though. Lots of places to visit, we loved Symonds Yat and Symonds Rock. Even saw wild boar in the forest around the rock! Coleford, the nearest town was good, with lots of shops and butchers and bakery too. Thank you to Sarah, Ryan and Sarah's mum, we really enjoyed our stay. We highly recommend The Acorns, you won't be disappointed!

“Peaceful and Friendly rural retreat”
Reviewed 25 February 2015 for a stay in February 2015

If you want a quiet peaceful break which we did you cannot fault this,Accommodation is comfortable and easy going. We enjoyed the log burner and logs are supplied. The horses love carrots so bring plenty !! Lots to do in a short drive away with lots of places like Malvern and Ross on Wye really lovely to wander round. The onsite owners are lovely as are the other horse owners we met there. We also enjoyed the birds that came down for the fat balls we hung in the bushes. We hope to return in the future.

“It ticked all the boxes for a relaxing weekend away, not too far from home”
Reviewed 24 February 2015 for a stay in February 2015

The Acorns was comfortably furnished, well-equipped and warm and Sarah offered a very warm welcome. The huge bed was super-comfy and it was lovely to have the hot tub to relax in after the arduous 1hr journey! It was quite a surprise to find ourselves surrounded by horses on drawing the curtains the first morning. We treated ourselves to a real "holiday breakfast" so the freshly-laid eggs went down very well and we enjoyed strolling it off in the surrounding gentle countryside. It was good to have a selection of eating possibilities within staggering distance, although next time we'll take a torch!
