The hotel was signposted and very easy to find, especially with a badly behaving sat-nav!

The receptionist was polite and attentive.

The room was large and clean with a comfortable bed.

The sleep quality was good, but there is no air-conditioning in the room, this wasn't a problem for us because it is so quiet there, you can sleep with the balcony door wide open.

The bar staff were particularly helpful.

The breakfast was well stocked, tasty, and, well, excellent, even for Germany.

We would love to go back there soon, but unfortunately need to work for a while now because I have used all my holidays!

When headed back to home, we still needed a place for breakfest. And because of the national holiday nothing was open. On our way back we found this hotel and asked if we only could have breakfest. No problem at all! We had the most friendly welcome and got personally served by the floormanager of that day. Everything was fresh and delicious and for a price that was very friendly. If you're looking for a place were service is a high standard, this is what you're looking for!

we had a 4 night stay in Gengenbach , and on arrival had been upgraded to an apartment suite , which was huge. The suites are on the rear of the hotel so the trade off is the balcony does not look out onto the town . Schwarzwald hotel is a short walk along the river to the town gates. There was a great gym and a swimming pool and sauna. breakfasts were off a good standard. The hotel had free wifi in our room and supplied us with a Konas card which gave us free public transport for the duration of our stay.

Room Tip: bag a apartment style room if possible.

Stayed for 1 night on a business trip arriving at 8.30pm.
Normally I like to do some exercise after a long day (600km drive) but they close the gym at 9pm, so went a run round local town. Receptionist did offer a map and directions which was nice of her.
Room not air conditioned and was 30C+ at 9pm so needed to have fan on all night to make sleep possible.
Breakfast was ok nothing special but coffee poor.
I would stay here again if in the area but would recommend that you ask for deluxe room as at time of booking I did not realise air conditioned optional.

Good services, beautiful swimming pool, copious breakfast. A small regret on bedrooms giving towards a workshop, the sight is ordinary. Surroundings a bit noisy. Only 2 TV channels in french, can do better.
