We stayed for a week in late September with our 3 dogs.
The lane to the cottage was narrow but this did not cause any issues at all if taken with care.
The owners met us on arrival and explained everything we needed to know. Even though we didn’t need anything during our stay the owners were available and very friendly, with a hello every time.
The dogs were given treats and toys to play with. Towels for the dogs were also provided, along with compostable poo bags if needed.
We found the cottage to be very comfortable and was spotlessly clean, it had all of the amenities we needed.
A rather pleasing surprise was the attention and commitment to recycling.
And would recommend this cottage to anyone who has dogs and loves the country.
A pretty thatched cottage in a secluded location with access along narrow hedged lanes to arrive at the lovely tree lined driveway. One of the owners met us on 30th June 2018 to handover for our stay.
First impressions were that the cottage smelt dirty, the carpets grubby and both bathrooms (also carpeted) were very dated. The furnishings were tired, the main bedroom double bed was uncomfortable. The vacuum cleaner was quite old, needed emptying and was smelly. The kettle leaks when pouring, this is such a simple fix and had been noted in the feedback book before, as had the bed. The private garden is small & pretty, but it is not enclosed so your dogs must be supervised at all times. It is not clear from the photographs, but the cottage is in very close proximity to the other rental cottages and is immediately adjacent the owners house. We cleaned the cottage every day and at least felt that we left the cottage cleaner than we found it.
The cottage has the potential to be really beautiful with a little updating, even new bath mats and towels would make a difference. Significantly, we have never ever seen forms within a rental property where owners use smiley or sad faces and sarcastic comments to mark us, the paying tenants. Two stars from us.
