“Perfect base for Northumberland”

This is a cosy cottage in the little Hamlet of Dunstan a little under a mile from Craster. It's well equipped and warm and has a pub literally next door with friendly locals and nice food. The owner will leave you to it but was on hand when we needed him, which is all you can ask for. This is a perfect base to explore the whole county, with Berwick only 30 mins away to the North and Alnmouth or Warkworth even less to the south.

Everything we needed to have a great holiday in Northumberland. Great to be able to walk to the castle, and to Craster. Also walked to Howick Gardens, not so far away. Good to have the pub next door for a pint when needed!

“Quaint, peaceful and a perfect location to explore Northumberland.”
Reviewed 7 April 2015 for a stay in April 2015

This cottage was a perfect home from home. Situated in an ideal spot to explore both the coastal and inland areas of Northumberland. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and could easily of spent the full week there (stayed 4 nights). It was clean, well set out with everything that a small family would need. The wine and Easter buns were also a very thoughtful gift on arrival!!

We would most certainly consider revisiting Ash cottage in the future.

“Great Base for Walking and Biking”
Reviewed 4 November 2014 for a stay in October 2014

Ash Cottage and Dunstan were a perfect location for a walking and cycling holiday. Its a lovely quiet street, just perfect for 2 people (might be a squeeze for my two crazy kids), and we really enjoyed the local area.
Even the pub next door was great for beers (we cooked ourselves so cant comment on food).
Had everything we needed for cooking ourselves, we got a food delivery from Sainsburys which was superbly timed. Missed an ice box so we had to forgo gin and tonics one evening, but that is hardly the end of the world!
Can heartily recommend kippers from Craster. The Jolly Fisherman is also nice (again only beers but food looked good) and the walk to Dunstanburgh castle from Craster is just lovely at 8am on a crisp clear day!

“Delightful cottage, wonderful part of Northumberland and will definitely be returning.”
Reviewed 3 June 2014 for a stay in May 2014

A comfortable & cosy cottage, great for couples. Difficult for those with young children - a busy road 5m away and unfenced frontage. The adjacent pub comes in handy, though it's probably seen better days. Robson's Smokehouse restaurant in Craster lives up to expectation in every way, is pleasantly informal & child-friendly too. Recommended.
