Up the hill from the sea, on the outskirts of the town of Recco there is this lovely hotel more like a homey B&B. The room was clean and large enough, with a nice bathroom and a distant sea view over the roofs. The trains CAN be heard all night, but that did not bother us, since we closed the double windows and used the ceiling fan. Breakfast was pleasant tho not more than that.
Around the hotel there is nothing to do - other than go to a local and nice Pizzeria for dinner. You have to drive down to the shore to have a busier evening.
The La Giara is literally a minute's drive from the other, more expensive hotels (like Elena) and I certainly would not choose any of them over this little place. There was sufficient parking at the hotel , and that was very important for us with a rented car and limited public parking spots available.More
