Staying at Villa Bahagia has ruined me for all future vacations. If discovering a gorgeous island like Lembongan isn’t enough to make you feel special, Villa Bahagia is truly a once in a lifetime (but hopefully twice or three times!) 5 star experience loaded with views, atmosphere, privacy, and a wonderful, thoughtful staff.
We’re from the United States and were referred to Villa Bahagia by an Australian friend who knows Bali very well. I’m rarely at a loss from words, but, aside from saying “hello” to the amazing staff upon our arrival, my jaw was unhinged for a good twenty minutes taking in this rare beauty. I wandered across the expansive lawn, absorbed the in-your-face ocean views and beautiful grass roofed luxury bedroom suite huts, wondering how we ended up with our very own private Ritz Carlton/ Peninsula level resort without the 5 star price tag. We only used 2 of the 4 bedroom hut suites but we still found the villa a superior value than renting a smaller home or luxury suite at nearby B&Bs. The property is laid out in a way that if you were traveling with 4 couples, everyone has the privacy of their own luxury bedroom hut and there’s a gigantic outdoor living/dining room next to the pool where you can meet up for meals, etc. If you opt for having some meals prepared at the villa, the staff is lovely and knows how to cook fun meals with local flavor.
All of the 4 luxury bedroom huts have massive ocean views so there shouldn’t be any fighting over who sleeps where. I was obsessed with our covered but outdoorsy master bath shower. If you appreciate design, all of the floors, including the gigantic outdoor living room, are poured terrazzo with wood inlays. I need to talk about the magnificent pool. This pool is the reason infinity pools exist, whether it’s Bali or back home in Southern California, where I’ve seen some pretty decadent infinity pools in Malibu and the Hollywood Hills. This gigantic, salt water pool seamlessly flows into the horizon of ocean waves. The pool is bigger than any of the other homes (or even the hotels and B&B’s) that I saw on the island and I checked out at least a dozen properties in person – which is my idea of sightseeing. While this island has some very nice looking homes, Villa Bahagia is beyond; It's an unparalleled, very special resort that not only surpasses anything on this island, but anything I’ve seen in the US, Central America, the Caribbean or Hawaii. If you want a very exclusive experience or perhaps you think you’ve seen it all, I promise Villa Bahagia will exceed your expectations. I also promise that your friends and family will think you’re photoshopping your pictures because the property is so amazing!
What a place! Heaven on earth. And Annie and all the staff are so nice. Food also very good. Hire a bike and see Bali like it was 40 years ago!!
We loved every minute of our stay. Everything at villa Bahagia has been done with quality and style. Staff, location, views, food - all fantastic. Many thanks to the hosts for a great time and wonderful memories!
I recently stayed at Villa Bahagia with friends and found the villa, staff and overall experience brilliant!
Ani and the staff are fantastic (she would be the best cook on the island!).
The accomodation is 6 star and there is nothing better than to wake up to ocean views each day before going for a dip in the infinity pool in one of the most picturesque locations you will find.
The most difficult part of our time at villa bahagia was having to leave as it is heaven on earth!
"Friends of ours returned very excited from a family holiday at Villa Bahagia saying it was their best holiday ever and that villa Bahagia was the most beautiful place they had ever stayed in. So we went. Even after all they'd said, Villa Bahagia was beyond our expectations. The moment we went through the entrance we were blown away by the spectacular setting. The villa is set along the ocean with stunning views from every angle, the bale, the bedrooms and the open kitchen.
The staff are very friendly, helpful and efficient. Nothing was too much trouble, organising our pick up from the airport, our ferry to the island and once we were there, our scooters, the boat to snorkel with the mantra rays and reservations at the local restaurants. Also the meals we had at the villa were superb. Ani is one amazing cook! Don't miss her legendary samosas.
To top it off the villa faces west so every evening we enjoyed brilliant tropical sunsets.
Our best family holiday too."
