“The best flat in Brussels”
Reviewed 11 July 2012

Well, I went to Belgium to spend a few days and I stayed in Brussels in Suite Home flats. I was expecting a normal flat, because I don`t trust in pictures that you see on internet.
Anyway, the flat was really really nice, clean, luxury and big. It has everything you could need. It was 7 minutes walking from the metro station and 7 minutes walking from the Justice Palace. The area is really nice, posh and you have many things around. Restaurants, Bars, supermarkets, everything. If you like to walk, you can walk to the Grand Place that is about 20 minutes walking. The area is very quiet during the night so you can have a nice rest. Laurent is a very nice guy and he helped us with our bags and stuffs because the got to the flat very early in the morning. So if you go and have any problems, contact him.
The flat is very comfortable, everything is brand new and clean and you can go there to spend holidays, for bussines, with family, etc....
Is not a place to go if you have a little budget, but if you want to spend your holidays in a terrific flat, I recomend you this place.

Room Tip: I recomend you the dupplex...

My family and I really enjoyed our weeklong stay in the Stephanie maisonette (no. 11). It was located on the ground level, which was perfect as we were wheeling a stroller in and out every day, and was spread over two floors with a courtyard in front (shared with no. 10, table and two chairs provided for each unit). The main floor was spacious with a kitchen (complete with stove, microwave/oven combo, dishware, utensils, Nespresso coffeemaker, dishwasher), small dining table, two small sofas in the living area along with flat screen tv, DVD player, and iPod/iPhone speaker dock.

The second floor was equally as spacious with a king-sized bed, large desk, washer/dryer, and bathroom with tub, shower and double sinks.

The decor is modern and simple, and the location is great, especially if you are interested in high-end shopping. It's a little far from the main sites, but close to metro and tram stops, and a 25 minute walk to the Brussels Midi train station for easy day trips to Antwerp, Ghent, and Bruges.

The few criticisms I have are similar to other reviewers: the lack of a shower curtain in the bathroom means water sprays everywhere when you're taking a shower. And the housekeeping staff only cleans Mon-Fri, which can be an issue since amenities like dishwashing soap, bathroom soap and other necessary items either aren't plentiful or provided. They also aren't very good about providing Nespresso refills. For families with small children, the stairs are quite steep, so you have to be particularly watchful of little ones.

All in all, though, it made for a great base to explore Brussels and other parts of Belgium.

We stayed for 4 nights in Apt 62 at the Suite Home Stephanie Apartments and the accommodation was terrific...all very modern, functional, clean and spacious (not that we can say the same for the actual city of Brussels which we found pretty smelly and dirty!). Laurent did our booking for us, and everything was done very effiiciently online. Aprt 62 is at the top of the building with a fantastic terrace, and we appreciated having such a nice apartment and the large terrace. The apartments are fully equipped, nice kitchen area (big fridge etc), glass dining table, lovely lounge area and large comfy bed. The units have air conditioning, and free internet is provided. The rates are very reasonable too. If we had to pick a fault, we would mention that the shower sprayed water onto the floor outside the shower because there wasn't a shower curtain...but this wasn't a real problem with the floor mat provided. It was so nice to come home to the apartment each afternoon after being out sightseeing, and to sit on the terrace with a coffee. The property is very secure with a code number to enter the building. It is well located quite close to the metro and also close to a couple of supermarkets. It didn't take long for us to work out how to get around. So we would recommend the apartments for a stay in Brussels...it made our stay very enjoyable (although it is still a mystery to us why the actual streets of Brussels are so dirty and smelly) and we would stay there again on future visits.

Room Tip: Rooms on a high floor and with a terrace are fantastic!

We booked this place thanks to the reviews on TripAdvisor and did not regret it. It was a little difficult to find thd key when we first arrived as either it was not explained on the instruction sheet we printed before our departure or the info ws missing. However a quick phone call solved the problem. I must add that if we hadn't had our mobile we would have had a problem. It is important to keep the print out with you as there will be code you will have to pin in and this could change during your stay.
The location was perfect for us as we were only 10 minutes on foot away from our daughter. Otherwise the tram was a minute or so walking dista ve from the appartment.
The suite we were allocated was lovely, modern minimalist furniture , a small but functional kitchen area.
The bedroom communicates with the bathroom and the toilet has two doors so is accessible from the living area s well as thd bedroom.
The only things which could be improved are the pillows which were not very comfortable. Personally Ihave a preference for parquet rather than carpet. Finally bring your own shower gel becsuse only one bar of soap was provided. There was no soap in the toilet which is not very hygenic.I suppose this was intentional because the tap didn't work anyway

This place was a very pleasant apartment to stay in. Upon arriving at the door, we regretted immediately that we weren't staying longger! :)
We stayed in the suite and it's a studio apartment so there's a bed area, a couch (leather) area, dining table (small square glass top) and a kitchenette. There's also a terrace you can chill out in if it's not too cold out. It's very clean with a fridge, cofeemaker, microwave, stove, utensils and dishes. There was also 2 free pods for the cofeemaker.
Checking in was a bit weird because there's no reception, you just get your keys in a box inside the gate. Checking out was weird for us also: we just put the keys on the table and left (as instructed).
2 negative things that bothered us: the toilet and shower areas are on opposite sides of the unit. Some people (like us), find that a bit inconvenient.
Another thing: The shower had no door or curtain! It's just a small elevated space with walls, with an entrance (you can see it in one of the photos in this review). When you turn on the light in the shower, the exhaust fan above the shower also turns on. That means the hot air is immediately sucked out. If it is cold, even if you take a hot shower, you will feel cold as soon as you step out of (or turn off) the water. Unlike in an enclosed shower where you have time to dry yourself and wrap in a towel before stepping out in the cold.
Also, the lack of cover in the shower can create some pretty awkward situations with people who are sharing the unit and are not intimately related.
The TV is a flat screen, but does not turn enough towards the bed area such that the person by the window will not be able to see the television screen properly while in bed.
