“Good location close to main sites”
Reviewed 9 July 2012

My wife and I recently stayed at Renaissance Brussels Hotel for the second time. The reasons for choosing this hotel were firstly the location in central Brussels; second that it provides family suites; this was important as on both occasions we were sharing with a grown-up daughter and it meant avoiding having to pay for two hotel rooms and is also nicer from a family perspective. The suite on this second occasion featured a main double bedroom, alongside a good sized sitting room with a separate space for a double fold up bed. This area was also planned with separate corridor access to the bathroom. The rooms were reasonably large although rather corporate in feel. Nonetheless they provided us with what we wanted and although the room rate was not cheap it still offered better value than purchasing two separate rooms in other hotels of a similar standard. My wife and I prefer more quirky boutique style hotels but these were less well placed to provide a family suite. The other attraction was the availability of onsite parking, as we were travelling to Brussels to help our older daughter move flat and had hired a people carrier for this purpose. The car park was located in an adjoining basement car park with direct lift access to the hotel. Car parking appeared (from the web site) to be nominally charged, in fact the hotel offered this service on a no-charge basis based on a special weekend rate, thus saving us a few extra Euros for our short two-night stay. When we arrived on the Friday late in the evening the initial hotel service response was not hugely encouraging to say the least - for example no bedding was available, and the directions to the car park could have been clearer for this tired guest, but the following day and Sunday service was a lot better (change of staff at the front desk). We would also praise the quality of the self service breakfast which was excellent. Overall the Renaissance Brussels Hotel provided us with exactly what we wanted out of this trip and we would use the hotel again on the same basis.

Room Tip: We were looking for a family suite - the one we took was on the first floor faced to the side of the...

Stayed here for a night for a business conference .Adequate hotel but not a lot happening around the hotel ,a little way away from the centre.Paid 180 euros for a nights sleep basically but it is where it is and needs must.Meal in the bar was good and reasonably priced (shame the accompanying drinks werent).Cleanliness was excellent and service was good .If you need a convenient stopover and your company are paying ,then this hotel is spot on.Great for business but not so good for a city break.

Fairly good business-type hotel, but not near La Grande Place. However, the Grande Place is an EASY metro ride away.

The rooms are clean (as well as the bathrooms), but as other people have advised, BEWARE of the internet/access price. The wi-fi is ONLY in the LOBBY, and they charge a ridiculous price for an access code that grants you ONE hour of Internet use.

I pricelined the hotel, but must admit that if I had paid FULL price, I would have been let down.

Went to Brussels during the May bank holiday weekend and stayed at Renaissance. I paid about £140 for 2 nights and booked at the very last minutes.
It is a nice hotel with friendly staffs but a bit away from the main area. It is in the business district of Brussels which is great at weekend that you can hardly see anyone or heard any noise.

The area:
The hotel can be easily reach by bus, metro or walk! It's a 10 mins walk from the metro station.
It's close to the European head quarter which offer free tour which is well worth a visit.
The area does not offer too much restaurants choice, so you either din at hotel or head to the centre for food which I chose.
I didn't have breakfast at hotel as I found the price is too much, but there is a small supermarket just round the corner that offer different foods for everyone's need.

My experience:
We arrived at the hotel a bit too early and rooms were not available yet, but the staff had offered me a disable room (fine by me). But I don't think the room had been occupy for a while because dust can be seen everywhere.
The hotel have broadband service BUT this is something you will need to pay for (and expensive) which I cannot believe.

But overall, I would still recommend this hotel for cheap leisure stay or business purpose only.
Enjoy.

The favourite expense account hotel of the European Parliament. Prices can be four hundred plus Euro a night when parliament is sitting or fifty over a weekend when it is not. Frustrating and difficult to escaape the conclusion that Marriott is price gouging the European taxpayer.

Little to fault the hotel itself over barring stupidly expensive internet that is an additional cost. This is a business hotel. It's predatory that that's not part of the room price.
